Hey guys first post and first time growing.so extremely new too this. I got my seeds just from seedy weed I got from my buddy's grow. So was just doing it as a trial run before I spent money on feminized seeds i planted 11 2 have sprouted. One looks good but the other the leaf is curling very bad used same water for both. Not sure if it's normal for them being so young

I agree. With window light, the plants will be very spindly and will fall over repeatedly unless you prop it up with a mound of dirt or a bread twist tie. They are already very stretched. The problem you will have with window light is that 1) It goes thru glass, filtering some of the light 2) The windowsill probably doesn't get full sun all day. Get a cheap LED or CFL light (LED is better) as you will simply waste your time trying to grow like this. I'm not sayin it can't be done... I think just about every grower has tried this at some point. I'm just saying that the resulting plant will be very weak and spindly, and when/if it flowers, the buds will be so light and fluffy that you might only get a bowl's worth from it.
I'm not trying to be mean as I tried doing it countless times. The sprouts are much too small and young to tell much about them, but the leaves in the middle, the pointy ones, are the true leaves... the round ones are what I call seed leaves (there is a proper name somewhere). Those are the ones that will be doing the growing. Don't think about fertilizing until they get a lot bigger. If you start or transplant them into larger containers, they will be easier to keep under the proper watering amounts. Plastic cups dry too quickly and will cause problems unless you up-pot them.

No its definitely not being mean I'll take any help/advice I can get. If I get it under co trol now and a light do you think I'll still have problems later on with these as how stretched they are?

No, they are small and stretched, but if you get it under a stronger light, they will be fine.

2 out of 11 is unacceptable:D. I germinate in soil but most here start seeds in damp paper towels to sprout them or an overnight soak in water.

Seven days is pretty much the max, but you will get better. I use a solo cup half full of damp commercial seedling soil, inside a sealed container like a coffee can to increase humidity and near a heat source for two to three days to germinate. If they stretch, fill the cup with more soil. Also a good idea to weigh the cup so you can water by weight. Old seeds are tough to get going, i’ve never had any luck with them.

Can you get them outside in full sun? A protected spot from wind and prop them up with a wire tie would do them well. Once they strengthen up transplant into a larger pot.

Welcome to the Farm and the growing bug.

The seeds that didn't crack yet I tried soaking them in water and 5 more cracked open so there in a paper towel now and 2 I still had in jiffy pods sprouted. So starting to look better! Giving me more hope haha

See those long stems? Don't grow bag seed unless you know how to tell a male from a female, those things will never finish, your much better off going to a reputable breeder or bank and get decent seed stock, you can't take a seed out of a bag, know nothing about growing cannabis and expect a 3lb tree useing window light, it does not work that way, this is why this site is here to help teach people how to grow properly, either make the leap, get all the stuff you need and do it properly, or continue to buy your weed on the street or wherever. I'm not trying to be mean just use good seeds, good dirt, a good light, a tent, proper nutrients and everyone will be more than happy to help you me included.

I got everything else. Have the tent lights all set up I originally had them under a light then I got bad information from someone else to put them on a window sill while they are seedlings. I never intended on growing them for the full grow in a window. I should of clarified that in original post And like i said in a previous post the only reason I used these seeds was because I've never germinated seeds before never have done this and it's good I didn't spend $100 on seeds for this to happen and now I know. This is kinda just a trial run to find out what to do how to properly give them water and nutes to care for them. Be able to identify Male and females so I'll know for future. Even tho I'll be buying feminized seeds still something good to know. This one is just a learning experience so I'll know when I get good seeds and alot better idea what it entails. Cause I really appreciate your help and everyone else's. More knowledge the better!

That's why they stretched so much you had them in a window, when the sun went away they stretched, I use 600w led I keep my light right on top of my seedlings so they won't strech, I'm growing 2 f2 red dwarfs 1 is quite large I had to raise the light and the little one stretched but I'm growing autoflowers, if you have a deck with a southern exposure yea but a window sill won't work I tried to, does not work, ok I'll try and help, I use fox farm ocean forest 4 parts dirt 1 part pearlite for airation, I mix a good handful of De Earth into my mix kills bugs and is a good soil conditioner, buy clay pebbles good drainage is a must, indoors I suggest nursery pots easyer than lugging a grow bag, get an electric ph meter mine cost $12, unless you want excessive heat buy at least a 600w led 2 cycle grow light with veg and bloom, you can buy a hydro crunch from home depot for under $200 I have a 4×4×80 tent but I only grow autoflowers and when there done veg I put them in a closet with a bloom booster, I use botanacare pro grow, and atami bloombastic, my investment paid for itself long ago, seedstock is important, I like sweet seeds, they sell autoflowers, fast version photoperiod, and regular feminized, buy what you want but bagseed is to unstable besides you have no idea what it is, its likes, its dislikes and i allways end up with a male, weather you want to grow autoflowers or photoperiod plants you have to do it right like i said ill be glad to help, so will allot of people, you just need the right stuff.

I have a 600w viparspectra led fan cooled light in a 4x4 tent. The strain of the seed is chromatose and that's what I'm using the ocean forest with fox farm trio nutes but I'll have to get the other stuff to add to it. That's a good idea thank you. I bought a electronic ph meter. I ended up ordering seeds got white widow and gold leaf feminized. I had 2 more sprout and got tap rroots on 3 more seeds. Do you think it's worth it to just go with these And hope for the best or get rid of them and just use the feminized seeds when they arrive? I'll post some pics of how they look now once I'm home

I wouldn’t throw any seed that sprouts away, give it a chance.
