Hey all. Thanks for the help. It worked for one, but the other is still being a pain. New light is here and they both seem to love it. I need to set up a camera in that tent to take a look throughout the day at work. Ha.

Question: they both seem to be getting a little snug in the 1 gal fabric pots and I was going to move up. I realize it makes more sense to go to a 3 gallon, but since there are only two, I'm thinking 5 would make a little more sense. The only thing that worries me is the one not so pretty girl, her roots are poking through and I'll have to be really careful. I've done it with peppers without any problem, but this worries me. I'm not sure if I want to put them through that twice though. So, just go to 3 and be done or to 5? I'm in no hurry, so if it's a little slower for a while, I don't mind.

Also, should I let them dry out a bit beforehand? Special feeding? I use fish emulsion and seaweed extract on pepper isn't it seems to work great and I'm wondering if it would be the same for this. Any tips or advice on this would be appreciated.

I read all the forums and this one seems to be the most informative, entertaining and civil. I'm truly grateful for y'all.
5 gals is the way to go but u can stick to one but it’s not enough to handle the growth at flower

Crap!!!

Yesterday, I transplanted the other one following the exact same process as the one I did Thursday. She look awesome when I left for work. I get home, unzip the tent and she was all droopy, sad and looking like total hell. I think this could be for a couple reasons.

1. Now I know I shouldn't do this, but it was fine with the other one. I topped a couple places. Maybe that helped create the problem.
2. I didn't dim the light.
3. Both 1 and 2.

pH was spot-on. Temp was 76 with an Rh of 62.

I dimmed the light to about 40% and turned up the fan ( not directly pointed at her. I was going to water again, but that doesn't seem to make any sense. I would have taken a pic, but it's just too depressing and it was a quick stop at home as I had to be somewhere. So, she's sitting there and hopefully she'll be ok.

Do I quick take some cuttings so I can continue with that strain? The strain I was so excited about. I have another light to get those going while the Blue Fire OG finishes. I'm going to guess y'all are going to say wait, but wondering if that's a good option if it looks worse tomorrow.

Damn, it was going so well after the first hiccup.

I'm thinking it's shock from the transplant and the topping. Stupid! Am I freaking out and she will bounce back?

Enforcer, I need ya. Your advice worked the last time so maybe it will again. Hell, anybody.

Peace
She will bounce back maybe at transplant the roots got a bit of shock. Give her a few days and just ensure it’s good ample water and very light nutes and allow it to dry in between to allow for root expansion. Super thrive helps plants recover faster as it has micro and macro nutrients to help plants bounce back , lower the humidity to 50 ish or lower until she recovers, at veg I shoot for 60% and at flip 45-50% and at finish at 30% to help it get dense.

Thanks, Jack. That feels a little better.

BTW, I transplanted from 1 to 3 gallon Fabric pots. I thought about 5's but that seemed to too big of a jump. At least that's my experience with veggies.

Ok, dimmed it down a bit and hoping for the best. And I turned the dehumidifier down to 55. Thanks, brother.

Just let he be and she will be fine just provide the best environment. If your lights have color spectrum control, cut the red out completely and increase the blue and white to max and dial the total output to 50%. The white and blue light helps it stretch and forces root development, the red helps the spread and counters the blue to maintain short canopy. It’s why post training into a net it’s recommended to use 100% red, 45% blue and 100% white. At veg. At flower cut blue to 25%, red to max, white to 50%

I think Jack is right. It’s more than likely transplant shock. Just keep on with the daily waterings like you have. Maintain as close to an optimal environment as you can. 78*F / 60% RH, with a light breeze. Keep the light a little higher than normal by a foot or so. Just until she comes back. That will reduce the stress and help her get her feet under her again. Don’t worry, she’ll recover.

Hell yeah! I went downstairs, slowly unzipped the tent.........and she's back! Freaking remarkable. She's currently at 61% RH and 77*F with the light dimmed to about 50%. I'll give that a day or two and reevaluate, so hopefully brining the light (wide spectrum LED. All visibility white with no option to filter out colors BTW). I feel so much better.

Another question. If you had two in a 2x4x6 tent, and one was about 6 inches taller than the other, would you elevate the shorter one so the light distance to the tops are the same, or just leave it be?

Thanks a ton guys. I'm loving this and you all help so much. What a great community!

I think it looks both overfed & overwatered?

Would recommend you never take cuttings and transplant within 5-7 days of each other, good luck!

Great news man👍 Yes, you’ll want to put the shorter plant on an upside down pot or something to level out the canopy. That will be the most efficient use of the light.

Yes try to keep the canopy even so elevating to do so is practical at this stage.

In the future I would avoid topping, fimming, cloning until they are in the final pots and nice and healthy.

In my experience after topping the plants will sometimes droop but it never lasts more than 24hrs. One other thing I do is top just before lights out by the time the lights come on you would never know

Awesome. Thanks you guys. Really appreciate it.

Sorry if this has almost turned into a diary but it seemed too much to create a new thread with every question.

Pics to come.

Ok, another rookie question about ventilation.

I have 3 vents at the bottom of my tent. Up top I have a 4inch carbon filter and a whisper quite fan to go with it. I also have a small fan softly blowing over the top of the canopy and another directed above and at the top of the light.

Should I only keep one of the 3 bottom vents open or just the one on the opposite side of the filler (current setup)?

I'm leaving only the one open at the bottom as I'm thinking it will give stronger intake from that shot and it will exchange the air faster. Am I wrong on this?

Thanks

Thanks
The more resistance the less air flow. With that said a slight negative pressure is usually desired.

Ok, a little update. I'm fairly pleased at the progress and it appears I have the feeding fairly buttoned down. I'm waiting for bigger saucers and an additional elevator do I can raise the little one for an even canopy.

Getting a little concerned that I'm going to get crushed out of room when I flip during stretch. I'll be turning the lights Sunday, unless I'll advised to let them go longer. The bigger saucers see needed in order to vac out the runoff as I have concerns about humidity.

I plan on a scrog, but I still need to clean up the lower half on the little one. I tied down the 4 tops on the big one yesterday so it would shorten the gap in size between the two. I'm not sure, but is there a chance the little one will catch up and I don't need to elevate it more? I don't know....

Overall, I'm happy for my first run. It's amazing how fast they move. Ya really have to be in top of it!

Peace!

Sry for being late to the game and hope you got it all squared away. Anyways, I stopped using RO water and had much better results in my hydro grow. Just curious, is there a reason you use RO?

Good question. I guess it's as a result of reading and watching videos saying it was the better way to go. I have a water cooler at home with 5, 5 gallon jugs, so I figured why not?

Yesterday was the first tap (sat out for 34 hours) and this morning they were looking good. I cut with RO by 25% and will slowly wean off the RO if the success continues. I have to say, they actually look a little better with tap, but it's too early to tell. Hopefully, I'm be good with that method because filling those jugs is a royal pain.

By the way, the tall one is a little over 12 inches and the small one is close to 9 inches. Hopefully, they'll stay within the manufacturers distance recommendation.

Looking good! Nice work👍

I use RO. It’s important I always put a few mls of calmag in the water, before I pH it. Because RO water will ruin my pH probe (Blue Lab). Then mix up nutes. Giving straight RO water will begin to show deficiencies (mainly calcium and/or magnesium) after a little bit. But it really is the cleanest starting point to mix nutrients.

Thanks!

Speaking of pH meters, I'm on my third one. Those cheap Amazon meters are cheapfor a reason; they suck. Constantly having to calibrate and unreliable, at least with the ones I've had. I took the plunge and got a "good" one (Apera) and I love it. I think some of the problems in the beginning were directly related as a result of bad pH readings. Hell, the quality meters are at least six times the cost, but worth every penny and kinda pays for itself from avoiding having to constantly pay for cheap ones throughout the grow.

Tomorrow hopefully my bigger saucers get here so I can vac runoff. Not going to be able to pull those out to water after scrog, and I can scrog until I get the suacers.

Hey y'all,

New here and glad to be here.

Can someone tell me what's going on here? Doesn't look right to me, but first, some info:

In Cannacoco and feeding AB plus Calimagic. Feeding lighter than manufacturers instructions. RO water with 700ppms going in and 20% runoff at 850ppms. pH 5.9 in and 5.9 out. See this point, feeding every other day.

Have a crappy light while I wait for an Electric Sky ES300v to show up. RH is about 70% and temp is slightly over 70. Lights are about 15 inches (Miehzi300) with soft fan.

This is kicking my new OCD in full throttle and a little help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, a little update.

Still waiting for larger saucers that will give me room to vacuum runoff. I'm guessing it will add to the battle of humidity in my house. I added a scrog but I can't lower it until that happens.

After the initial problems, I adjusted pH and nutes. I think the advice I got on here was correct. I've been boosting the ppm's, but slowly. They're only getting under 600 at this point (nervous to go to quickly) and the runoff is about 150 less. I'm guessing that means they're eating.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased. I really want to turn that light back, but waiting for those damned saucers. If they're not here by Thursday (day off) I'll just go to a hydro store and get it done then.

Thanks everyone. They may not look perfect, but I'll happy....
