Changing Light Schedule from 24hr to 20/4

First time grower here looking for some advice on switching up my lighting schedule. Grow summary is as below:

- Running Critical Purple autoflowers
- DWC hydro system
- LEDs
- Botanicare nutes

I have been running these for the first 3.5 weeks on a 24 hour light schedule. I live in Las Vegas where it is obviously very hot and dry. To help combat the mid-day heat, I was contemplating turning off the lights for 4 hours and switching to a 20/4 schedule. Will it be ok to switch up the lighting schedule mid-grow?

I read a trial a few years back comparing autoflowers and light cycles and out of 24/0, 20/4 and 18/6 the highest yield was consistantly 20/4.
