Is it okay to grow 2 plants in 1 pot while it’s at veg stage?

Is it okay to grow 2 plants in 1 pot during the veg stage ? Also what would be the most effective way to transfer 1 to another pot ? Any advice would be helpful.

Can't imagine it'll be too much longer before their roots are hopelessly entangled to the point where they're never gonna come apart. I have no experience with growing 2 in the same pot, but my gut tells me it's not a good idea. Your best bet may be to just chop the weaker of the two, then up-pot the survivor. They're pretty leggy, so if/when you re-pot, it may be a good idea to bury much of that stem.

What are you using for lighting? With them stretching like that, it suggests it's either too weak or too far away.

Thank you very much for the advice . The good old sunlight is what I’m using. This is my first grow attempt. I have it on a window sill.

I've never used filtered sunlight before, but it seems like it should probably be more than enough for seedlings. Maybe it's heat that's causing the stretch. They look to only be a few days old, so I suppose it's possible that they could still be safely separated. No idea how much of a root system they'd have at their age. If you're gonna try to keep them both, I probably wouldn't put that separation off for much longer. Probably best to wait for someone who actually knows something to give some advice here, before doing anything that may endanger them.

If you insist on saving both plants take a wide spoon scoop one out using some care and pot it up. It should be fine. Like Fangthane said bury most of the steam and get some light on those baby's.

I have grown more than one plant in the same pot many times.
I would personally add a bit more soil to your pot if it was mine and I planned on keeping them together for a while " it will help support and grow more roots " at least until re-pot for both and gradually bring the level of soil closer to top of pot.
Separating them, I would make sure the soil isn't to dry but moist and just put my hand over the top of the pot with fingers spread between the stalks and turn the pot upside down then I would carefully pull apart the two halves of soil evenly between the two plants pulling as many roots from one another as possible at the same time then plant them.
While they are growing together I would also bend them apart from each other as much as possible and train the branches accordingly.
Done it many times for one reason or another and haven't lost one.

ive grown 2 jedi kush in one 15 gal pot before came out outstanding ,big ole bush ,was about 3 1/2 ft wide and they got to about 3 ft tall from top of pot,i dont let mine get tall indoors,why the lack of soil? you probally at a point were your gonna kill one or both trying to get them out from lack of soil unless you take the whole soil ball out and rinse the soil away to get your roots apart,not the best method but does work,this will be a true transplant,most use solo cups and fill the cup full of soil when the roots come out drain holes,take another cup and make a indention with the cup,fill all around it,slowly take empty cup out sprinkle rooting powder or any other product of that sort al around were the cup was,take the transplant pop bottom of cup and sit it right were you sprinkled the goodies,after that press it in for soil to soil contact,water it in a little and set back waiting for harvest.
as all others mentioned bury them stems,all the way to the baby leaves even if your not transplanting,that will build some nice strong stalks,leave them in that pot until you got 2 sets of full leaves then transplant the pot,keeping them together wont hurt a thing,just plan for that and use a big planter like container as you would use outside,mine is 15 gal but the rim is about a 2 ft circle,i only veg a month and then rock there socks off,so plan for at the least of a 2ft span for them to be good girls and spread them legs,they will do fine

Seems like a good idea if reg seeds , tho who knows they could both be females . They'd compete for water and nutes . Fun challenge to train if yuh give'm a big enough pot. No doubt you could fit more pots. Hedge your bet with reg seeds - culling males wouldn't be as much a bummer. That's for sure.

your going to have to do something... So my 2 cents is, Get a knife cut your dirt right in half with the plants, go big in pot size so you don't have to do this again.. Just leave a couple " showing and let them grow
