Fact or false - 24 hours of light

So I’ve been running 24 hours of light in my grow people are telling me plants need sleep or it will stunt there growth.. true or fake? Thoughts?

Need it to respire, it helps almost every part of the plant having darkness.

tho this is only true depending on the amount of light/lumens your able to provide them during that light period.

you can’t give them enough light to grow in 24 hours darkness is not required.

So it’s true if your lights are able to be on par with amount of light the plants need at their current cycle then a period of darkness is required to be beneficial to the plant in veg. Of course for photos, autos you can keep whatever crazy schedule 20-4 18-6 . 2x 10-2

I have a HLG 550 v2 if that helps think imma just swap it to 18/6 but i just don’t it to drop 15 degrees at night it would be like 63 degrees

I always run mine 24/7 due to temp issues, and mine outgrow my friends growing the same strain at 18/6 it depends on if paying for the extra electricity is getting you that much extra growth in my opinion

In this situation you’re better off running 24/0 due to lack of heat. If you want to add some additional hearing you’d be ok but then again you’d be paying for that additional heat so you might as well run your lights. The problem comes from how long it takes to get back to ideal VPD after the lights come back on. That’s lost growing time.

Here in Colorado where there are hundreds of outdoor farms we see overnight temperature drops of 40 to 50 degrees on a regular basis, and it doesn't affect anyone's plants. Except maybe a little purple color in the cooler months. In fact, our temperature difference is known to make our sweet corn even sweeter. The more you know.

Plants like people need sleep, or as for plants a period of darkness, while you can grow 24 7 you are unnecessary stressing your plants, your plants dont stop growing bc the lights are off for 6 hours, your not gonna get more weed just a bigger light bill give your girls a bit of sleep! In my humble opinion.

yep, pots get cold. outdoor root systems in the ground dont get cold quick and easy.

are you able to have your needs met? with how many hrs? how many harvests- ballpark? rhetorical... have u tried runnin 24/24, in a 6-11" teepee? i leave lights in the bigtop on for 24... & I'll set fire to the entire country, by lunchtime. just my 2 cents, but ur needs might b met, with even fewer hours of light and your teepee, and genetics, (unless it's a convertible) might make that question, moot, FOR YOU; might make that decision, for you.
come harvest, an 18hr bud vs a 24hr bud... vs an auto... too many other factors, effect outcome. the buds, look the "same", to me... did it work? good job!
I've yet to see a comp/side by- and discussions about it can get... like politician, violent.
