About to buy a LED ligth please help

Thats because all the “white” diodes are actually blue phosphers like a t-5 flourescent bulb. No real red in there regardless of advertised color temp. The inclusion of the red diodes now proves it.

Ahhhhhhhhh. Fascinating. So you should try for 4k range to get some red.

I would go 3000k or even 2700k with the new h diodes.

As low as i can go for flowering i would think.

I already use 10 two foot GE 6500 k bulbs for veg. ;-)

I wouldnt prefer to flower with them.

anyways 4ft 6500k t5 for seeds
2700 and 3000 k white strips for veg

3 Far Red18-24w srtips running also

I use your config in my 2x4 flower tent ..2x Atrium 3000k's and 2x HLG 132's in 3500k...(No far red yet..saving some $$ for a new espresso machine..Haha)

It is mostly for breeding, but occasionally I will flower a female or two in there. It always drove me nuts that a 3x3 (9 sq ft) can flower 4 plants (tightly) and the 2x4 (8 sq ft) MAYBE 2! I say maybe, because I have had plants that take the whole tent by themselves. (usually something that vegged for a few months until I figured out what to do with it (male or female, depending on if I wanted new pollen to chuck)

Why 6500k over what we just talked about? Because they are what came with it and bulk bulbs are kind of spendy?

This would just be for my seeding jump start light. Single t5.

6500k t-5 tubes keep plants nice and short and leafy. Always seems gentle on the young plants. And i only grow them to about 18” before flowering max. So they go slower and can veg to maturity in 6 weeks without getting too big for my system.
