Is this because the seed never fully came off?

Should I manually pull the seed off or is the drooping related to something else (like removing the humidity dome earlier today)?
  • pH 6.5
  • Foxfarm soil + perlite
  • Last watered Saturday (48 hours ago)
  • Temp - 77F
  • RH - 45%
  • Seedlings had a plastic baggy humidity dome over them until this morning.
  • Light: 1 roleandro 1000W (previously branded as a 300W galaxyhydro) at 24" (was previously 35" per manufactures suggestion but they were stretching

No do not pull the shell off, get a mist bottle and mist the seedlins head till it falls off it will. Your seedlings popped high it could be there trying to get light, i grow exactly like you but have 600w light, a trick, when i get a high pop i burn the plastic off a bread tie make a loup at top of wire then stick wire in dirt this will hold your seedlings in place till they can get going, gently move them back and forth lightly this is low sress training, once your stems harden you will be fine.

They are fine, lay off the water a bit
Use a hand mister if you cant controll your watering .....
Just spray the soil till they feel damp , after they dry of course...

From what I can see it looks like the seed's shell is off but the clear membrane is stuck, here's a couple tips;

If the shell is stuck keep it moist with frequent sprays to help it crack, when its dried its harder for the plant to shed

If the clear membrane is still attached I always give it 24 hours to see if it can shed it by itself

occasionally you might have to clean a fresh razor blade in alcohol and then carefully slit one side of the membrane and that usually does it, get the razor blade in between the two leaves so you don't nick them and be gentle! Hope this helps good luck!

Really appreciate the tips. I ended up following the advice on another forum (reddit/r/microgrowery) and they said to remove the husk -- that was before people here said not to. Sorry about that, I just did whatever advice came first. Lesson learned.

Anyway .. two people here said it was overwatered so we used napkins to wick the water out of the starter pot.

It didn't recover.

Then last night .. figuring it was dead ... (and I was super high) .. I suggested watering it one last time just to see.

And this is what happens (!!):

(It's the one closest to camera on the left)

(and yes I know the ones in back have stretched badly, lights have been moved closer)

Also .. any opinions on when to move these into bigger pots? 4 auto, 2 photo. The roots are supposed to grow through the paper pots or something, we just put them in the larger pots supposedly. It's been 1 week since the seeds were put in the paper pots.
