I use a notepad in each grow area and a desktop/large calendar to mark the changes written in the notepad.

I have a laptop at my work bench, just outside of the grow areas. I use spreadsheets at work to keep track of measurements so doing this at home is second nature. Written observations in the log. Numbers recorded on the spreadsheets.

I tried keeping track of things on my desktop calendar for a while but the distance between my plants and the desktop was too far away and by the time I got to the computer I couldn't remember if it was Mw1 CB2 Gc1 or whatever....... I transposed and fked up. Now its in the room with me, smoking and logging with distance in between makes for fked up book keeping.😁

Oh no never in the room but I smoke from morning to night so there"s really no time without the short term memory loss associated with the meds and without seeing the plant and documenting what I've done to her. Shit I close the curtain and go hmmm was that gc1 or kc1 lol

Update: All 6 seeds germinated. They have been transferred to peat pellets, put in a dome and placed under 200 watts of cob light. Distance is 4' and the cobs are two 50w 380nm-720nm burple style grow cobs, one 50w 6500k cold white and one 50w 2700k.

I'll be placing 3 cookies and cream seeds and 3 zkittlez seeds in paper towels to germinate this afternoon.

Well, life happened yesterday. I didn't get the other seeds started yet. I think I will hold off for a day or 2 now. I have a few seedlings from the first batch and I will start the new ones once I move the peat pellets into the solo cups.

Well life happens, and now you're just getting a staggered start so you can go perpetual!

It's a bit advanced but I plant every 5weeks. Get to still grow a bunch of different strains, but more personal attention to the 2-5 girls I get while I have them. Less risk with noobie mistakes that seem to still happen once in a while too.

I've got more than 1 tent. Perpetual is what the future holds if all goes as planned .... Between my wife and I we can have 24 plants.

Plans are to eventually use 2 areas on one of my tents for mother and clones, and the other for flowering. I started in soil but will at some point move to hydro. My last pump arrived today.

Nice, gotta love the MI plant counts! Denver was the same but now we only get 6, only 3 in flower. Was 12 per adult, up to 24 total household before. Now 6 per house, none allowed outside...so I grow 3 trees inside.

Ya Im pretty similar on the 2 tents except backwards. Veg gets one area, bonsai moms and clones just a little dome in the corner honestly. The flower tent gets half-and-half flip flopped. So pulling out/chopping half the tent every 5 or so. Keeps more space open in flowering, because that seems to be were I get backed up.(just a few more days, I want those perfect trichs haha)

I do "hydro" too...Coco in smallish pots and bottle feeding. Fast growth with Coco, but little less learning curve of the issues with roots actually in water..

You sound like you've been doing this for a while ... That's good to know!

I grew a handful of crops 30 yrs ago with HID. I winged it then. Once I switch to hydro, I will be in unfamiliar territory. I have read up on it so I have book knowledge, but absolutely zero hands on experience. Hydro may be a science, but it seems like the best growers react to their plants needs like growing is an art.

I have much to learn ... but I can also learn as I go ... If I lose a few plants along the way, I will survive through it. It's part of the learning process.

grow led friends can look new quantum boards and all grow products

No thanks, I've got wayyyy more lighting than I am currently using.

I recently purchased two 250w quantum boards (500w total) for far less than what you're selling your lights on that web page for.

Update: Almost a month since I started this grow. It's been a bit of a struggle at the start. My soil pH was about 5.0, most likely the promix. I have read that sometimes its pH is out of range. Then I over-watered them and that slowed them down. I think I finally have them moving forward but I think my soil is still too wet. I have a lot of perlite mixed in, but that promix is like a sponge. Lately, I am seeing new growth with yellow tips. I'm hoping someone here has some answers. Pictures in my next post.

I'd be itching to get to those tops. lol I'm bad at that, I couldn't let nice plump tops like those go uncut. Just let me atem for a few minutes, I'd only cut 11 of them. Some will say I'm nuts ( I don't disagree) I have this problem with scissors around pot plants. It takes me forever to get a plant from seed to harvest but I get my clipping fix in and nice round plants when I'm done. 😋😋😃

I haven't decided on 8 of them. I have another tent and I think 11 will crowd a 5 x 5. 1 each of Banana Punch, AK47, and zkittlez will be moved, topped and then scrogged. I will be in Texas for work next week so I have the rest of the week to decide.

The other 8 I am more likely to start bending them over. I would like a mid June harvest so I'm not going to do anything to lengthen veg.

I'm trying to get off of dispensary flowers. I'm rarely pleased with what is offered locally or in the nearby areas.

We're at 5 weeks now. Just finished transplanting them into their final containers. I'll be flipping in the next week or so.

Funny part is that 2 of the 3 banana punch plants seem to be flowering (not pre-flowers). Their supposed to be feminized photo period plants.

Picture in the next post ....
