I have this purple kush shes on day 63 since the day i put the seed in the dirt. She only just hitting 12” tall. Does that seem small? Shes in living soil and i water with r.o water mixed with a low dose of liquid seaweed. Here and there i add a little molasses. My light is cheap i honestly dont know the watts...

Hi, she looks really healthy, but a bit small maybe, I don’t know the strain. How big is your pot? Looks a bit small if you want a big plant.

Shes a purple kush and in a 5 gallon smart pot. Maybe im just misinformed about how big she should be in this environment. Cheers

Some plants veg very slowly, like Bubba Kush. It does tend to be a trait in indica dominant varieties. This doesn't mean it won't stretch once you change your light schedule. I would move that light a bit closer, they look like they are 18" or more above the top of the plant and for those lights its just too far to get any intensity down low into the plant. Get that light between 8" and 12" from the top of the plant it will do better, though it may not cause the plant to grow any faster.

I would also suggest doing something to block out all that light before you put it into flower, otherwise it will continue to stay in veg or worse go hermie on you.

I would lower that light, but the plant looks healthy. You can try some low dose grow nutes and between that and lowering the light if it was going to grow, that would do it.

probably just a slow vegger, it's showing classic indica traits, good looking plant

ok thanks ill try lowering the light a bit ive ben keeping it around 15” inches above on average and my runoff ppm is around 1,080 so idk if i can give extra nutes or not. Cheers

Nice thanks! Ill try it out. What do you think about a bit of sidelighting?

Your plant looks happy and healthy, but IS a little short for her age. As others have mentioned, some strains, kush included, are usually compact and bushy. They often take off growing taller later in vegging, but you don't seem to be enjoying that luxury. As @Dabfarmer said, side lighting might help to encourage it to grow taller. I would pinch/top it to encourage more side growth as well. Thiose huge fan leaves are shading the growing tips below them, which is often where you see a lot of growth. You seem to have enough light, but maybe it isn't spread out enough? I've never used lights like yours...I think additional lighting would benefit you greatly, but you seem to have mastered the growing part so far!

Don't worry about side lighting, just keep your life and grow simple. Use the light you have as you have it.

1080 ppm is super high for runoff. However, since you are using soil to grow in, and its a living soil, so you don't need to check your runoff PPM, it will not tell you anything useful. Your aim at this point is to keep the microbes in your soil happy and healthy. Stop thinking you are feeding the plant, you are feeding the soil. This is the crux of all organic growing, the medium (almost always soil) is a living thing which contains more living things. If the soil is in balance all the things living in it, including your plant, will get exactly what they need when they need and and will be happy and healthy. Since you are not adding much into the mix with liquid nutrients checking your runoff PPM is only checking what is already part of your soil which is nothing you are going to change with water or bottled nutrients.

I would drop the molasses altogether, it is more likely encouraging anaerobic bacteria to grow rather than beneficial microbes you want to encourage. If you want, use it at 1/4tsp per gallon of water once a week. Add a well rounded beneficial additive to your regiment, I like Photosynthesis + from Microbe Life, from them I also use the Vegetable and Fruit Yield Enhancer and their Foliar and Root Dip. Orca from Plant Success is a great product too.
