I just purchased my first indoor grow kit:

- Vivosun 48x48x80 indoor grow tent:
- Yehsence 1000w LED Grow Light with Bloom and Veg Switch: amazon.ca/gp/product/B07J57V6MW/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- VIVOSUN 6 Inch 390 CFM Inline Duct Fan with 6 Inch Carbon Filter:
- 25 ft of aluminum duct
- I will be using a passive intake system
** Please let me know if I am missing anything!

The plan is to eventually grow 4 large plants in 5 gallon pots.

I have no issues with germination (I use the paper towel method) - once the tap root is showing, I put it in soil...here are my questions:
1. Do I put them in the grow tent at this point?
2. When do I turn on the lights?
3. How high do i hang the lights from the pots?
4. What light schedule do you recommend? 18/6?
5. This may be a dumb question....when do I turn on the intake fan? Am i required to do it as soon as I put them in the tent? I would assume so to get fresh air, correct?
6. Do you recommend 5 or 3 gallon pots?
7. Somewhat of a concern...do you believe this will stink up my place? I have read with a good fan and carbon filter (which I think I have?) it shouldn't.
8. Do you recommend venting out the window?

I really do apologize for all of the question- first time indoor growing. I just need to get it to where there is a few leaves and then can handle it from there! It is the beginning part that stresses me out the most.

i would start them at 18/6 under the light not on full power if it has that option. few feet above them.

Would you put them under the light immediately after putting in soil, or wait until they sprout?

I put my seedlings under light after germination, but usually somewhere in my tent that has less direct light than my older plants. As far as when to start your fans and all of that, its going to depend on your environment. I use my inline fans and exhausts to regulate my temperature if it goes too high/low. I would probably recommend some sort of humidity control as well.

Great - this pretty much answers all my questions. After asking the fan question, I realized it would be most likely really hot in the tent, so turning the fan on will be required most likely.

I also have a humidifier and a separate humidity gauge...I'll try to get environment good with those. If I can't, I'll get a humidifier that goes to a specific level.

Would you also recommend 3 ft above seedlings to start as well? i plan on starting in solo cups (will put drainage holes in the bottom) I can put it in the corners of the grow tent so that its not directly under the light? Once they start to sprout, I'll put them directly under.
