Hey guys...Currently at 14 weeks of veg...yes i said it lol. im vegging my 4 plants to fill out a 5 x 10 and almost complete. I realized the growth had stunted slightly so i checked my runoff ppm and i was up at around 1800. I started a gradual flush for a week of 2 gallons per day but the salts dropped very slowly at around 200 ppm per feeding. Yesterday i decided to fully flush them all out down to 250ppm which is slightly above what i was putting into it. Is there any advice that anyone can give to prevent the immense amount of yellowing thats about to take place while the promix dries out over the next 4 days? I know i can foliar feed the calmag to help slightly but i fear it may not be enough....any suggestions? Would be much appreciated.

document the yellowing as it progresses would like to see

Ok I’ll take some pics later today @amadak. There was a number of issues that I counteracted that made a big difference.
1) My hoods were about 18inches from the top of the canopy and I thought was safe but it definitely contributed a bit to the yellowing and bleached the leaves a bit. I noticed this was a issue because all of the outer leaves were perfect and I started to see some heat stress form on my trainwreck leaves(slight curling on the edges). So I raised the lights all the way up to give the plants a chance to catch themselves and it’s definitely made a difference, they now sit around 2 1/2ft above the canopy.
2) Two days after flush I gave a 1/4 strength base grow feeding with 150ppm of calmag so it wouldn’t shock the girls and there was at least some nutrition in the soil so the plant wouldn’t cannibalize itself and start sucking from the leaves too much. The next day I made a mix of recharge(a hefty pinch from the bag...not a handful) and ph correct water and gave each plant 7-8 cups each...this doesn’t raise ppm at all so I knew it wouldn’t be adding much more salts. Two days later I gave them a 3/4 strength grow feeding with another 150ppm of calmag and 1/2tsp of kelp after to bring the ppm up from 600-7/750. The runoff after this feeding was about 600 even though I put 750ppm in. Tomorrow I will give them just a watering with ph correct water to see where the ppm in the runoff is sitting and balance out things from there.
Important note: I’ve always heard to water promix at 6.1ph to have a runoff of 6.3ph which is ideal for this medium. Since calcium has optimal root pickup around 5.8ph I dropped the last 3/4strength feed to 5.8 to ensure that if there was any calmag issues that they would be addressed and that the mycorrhizae from the recharge powder would help The roots take up the cal faster.

I dont think you'll see a ton of yellowing The cec of promix can hold enough nutrients to continue feeding the plant for a week or two even if you add nothing. Mind you it sounds like your plants are monsters so I guess it's possible. Got any pics?

the above is the trainwreck on the left and lemon skunk on the right. The light did play some tricks on me and overemphasize the yellowing a bit but there’s definitely a slight issue of malnutrition since the flush.

the above is Greenhouse cheese on the left and white widow on the right. The widow has been holding its dark leaves pretty nicely throughout even though it had the highest ppm out of all the girls...pretty resilient to the stress.

As you said...there are monsters lol..I never read of anyone doing only 4 plants to fill a full 5x10 so let’s see how this harvest goes ;) it’s been a awesome way to take a shitload of clones though. Canopy is full no matter how much I defoliate. I do a handful of leaves daily and shit keeps bushing up and growing more heads. Very interested to see how this transpires. Should I lollipop before the flip? I usually do it second week into flower but idk...was thinking if I do it now that it’ll focus all the growth to the top and help them stretch to finish filling out the Scrog. Planning to veg for one or two more weeks to balance out all issues. Any words of wisdom im always open to especially with regards to prepping the plant prior to flower and for the first few weeks.

I would also like to add that I’m currently using my flowering bulbs and ballast but dialed down to 600w for the veg. Hence why the yellow color is so present in the glow. Should I make the flip over to 1000w before the flip to flower and get the plants used to the intensity? Or should I leave as is considering the 600 intensity during veg seems to be a bit much..at least at from the height that it was hanging.

Yeah man, I lollipop as I veg now and it does make the top shoot up faster for sure. No harm doing it right when you flip. Those look crazy dude lol. What size pots are they in? I honestly think youd have a hard time overwatering those badboys if you need to sneak a feeding in a bit early. Promix performs much closer to a hydroponic soiless mix than people give it credit for. I've had to water promix before it was fully dry for various reasons and it's never been a big deal.

I'm surprised you are getting away with such a low feed rate. And equally surprised you were getting buildup at that rate. Do you water to runoff each time? I'd think plants that size would benefit from feeding closer to 1.5 ec/750ppm

As long as it doesnt negatively impact environment. If you can keep RH above 50 and temps below 80F, and have a good 24" between the canopy and the lamps, then the more light the better. Absolutely. I'd have it on 1000w asap and get it growing as big and as fast as possible.
But if it causes humidity or temp problems then no. However given how Insane those are I doubt you will have trouble keeping humidity above 50 lol.

Tbh I was just feeding the plant every 5 days and watering once in between and the plants seemed to love it. I wasn’t checked the runoff as much as far as ppm once the ph was at 6.3 cuz the plants were happy. They started off going indoor and outdoor for the first half of veg when they were small so sun was making up for any of my lack of oversight. Then when I brought them into the tent under the two 600s they got a bit of a shock as well I guess. Lots of variables changed. I’m in the Caribbean so they went from blistering sun outside with 80% humidity to a AC room at 70deg and 55-65%% humidity. So I’m playing a bit of catchup to get them used to it. They all currently sit in 5 gallon pots. I could probably water every day if I wanted to but I prefer to let them dry out the medium usually. If it’s a flush or I see an issue I may water every two days since the top of the pot is usually dry by then with slight moisture under that. I can’t stick my finger down more than a inch because it automatically hits a large wall of roots. They’ve been loving recharge so I’m interested to see how this root zone looks after harvest.

UPDATE: I’ve flipped over to flower and the current girls have grown quite a bit and despite my efforts still yellowing on the top of the canopy. HOWEVER I’ve also noticed yellowing and ph issues on my og girls that I have getting ready for the next cycle and I discovered a hugeeeeee problem. I was initially using GH PH down but that bottle ran out and my buddy grabbed a bottle of hydrochloric acid and we started using that. I paid it no mind because it was getting the job done and saw no noticeable differences....but it has definitely built up over time. I realized because I deconstructed all of what I was putting into the water rather than the environment because of the ph issues. I’m sure this definitely has a lot to do with the yellowing in the tent with the big girls. Anybody care to weigh in with an experience and clarify if this might be the root of the issue?
