Hello . On Wednesday I received my first LED light . It's 100 watts and there is a fifty watt option also . It knocks out about 6000 lumens and is brighter than any of my CFL lights . Just had to try LED . It was £9.29 for the light and I had to put a cable on it and a cable joiner . All in all it cost me 16 quid which I'm pleased with . I posted another similar thread in the wrong place please forgive . I got the light off ebay and the prices included postage. My plants seem to be enjoying it . Wasn't even sure it would work but it does . Also it doesn't pretend to be a 600 or 1000 watt as some of the other makes do by putting a 0 on the end . I think somebody makes them in a shed somewhere . Here is a picture of my recent acquisition . Doesn't look much but seems to do a good job and if I have to buy another one in six months or a year then so be it.

Anybody else tried one of these and if so what do you think and how does it compare to other LED lights.

Well here's my latest acquisition. should be here next week . It's called a Home 600w grow light . Have an awesome evening.

It's a 60watt out of the socket but a 600watt equivalent . It's the best light I've had and I really hope the courier treats it well.
My tomato's should really benefit from it .

My first LED light at the start of this thread which cost £9.29 is now a fifty watt device as half of it has stopped working . I switched it on the other morning and after about 15 seconds it made a ping and one of the cob boards had bit the dust . It was only about 2 weeks old .
False economy I suppose just wish I had bought a better one in the first place . I read from one place that sells them that they are prone to shorting . Some body on here said it was not a hundred watt more like a 20 watt and now I've spent some time looking at lights and wattages I can see he's right .

It's the same principle as growing in general: quality in/quality out. When something is that cheap, you won't get quality. Hopefully the new one is better but I wouldn't get my hopes up to much. It is ALWAYS worth it to get good lights. It's literally the most important thing in an indoor garden.

Good luck!!!!

From what i see around, honestly, it'll cost you likely $1.00 per watt, unless you look at those kingbrite panels on alibaba, supposed to be really good, for less, but after shipping- still around 1$ a watt 🤷

That is a nice looking light . My 600w ( actual 60 watt) arrived 6 days ago and is working well and is my best light so far . £30.99 including delivery . It's unbranded which suits me as it would of cost more if it was . I have noticed that a lot of stuff on ebay is going up in price quite sharply in just the last couple of weeks . Had my tent 6 weeks and paid just £22.99 it's nearer £50 now . My plants have been in flower about a week now and I have 23 budding places across all my plants . Hopefully it'll be ready in 7 or 8 weeks and I'll get to sample some great pot . Looking to become self sufficient in the near future . Got my seeds ready for my next grow already . Will be growing 4 plants at a time which is what I have space for . Have a happy grow.

4 plants, you'll want more light than 60watts to the socket if you're expecting decent yields. 2 of those lights should be okay, for simple self sufficiency growing.. It really depends on how much you need, and what you think you will be getting off this, I'm curious?

Yes been in flower about a week . planted seeds mid February . I would really like 1 ounce per plant but I may be being optimistic . We'll see I suppose in a couple of months . I might need another tent and lights in the near future but will have to wait a while . I need about 4 grams per budding site for this to happen and I think I can do this .

I planted five seeds and they all germinated and even better they are all females . 1 of them is tiny and not up to much but it's still producing another one is bigger and not too shabby and the other 3 are awesome . Will only be growing 4 at a time from now on as 5 is a little cramped . Will be smoking the leaf too . Waste not want not and all that.

For my tent cfl lights and rubbish LED lights plus my new light that I really like and compost and pots I spent about £80 for the lot . So really if I get an oz I'm not doing too bad and that is pretty much a done deal .

Tbh the best I think you can hope for will be 2oz total with that light and I feel that's being generous.

I see damn . well I'll see what happens over the next 60 days and then I can start grow number 2 and see what needs to be upgraded. To be honest 2 oz's would be good. the light is pretty good and way better than the CFL's I was using

Now that is a good idea . It's quite large and draws 135 watts and it's got a 675 watt equivalent and I got it for nothing . Awesome light . But yeah my lights prefer the new LED light . They thrive in it.
