I have a 32x32 tent with 4 auto plants in it 2 in veg and 2 in flowering. I have a 6 inch exhaust fan with filter and I have a 240w led quantum board. I have 3 of the 6 inch clip on fans now and would have 2 blowing air down towards the tops of the plants and want to put 2 at the bottom of the tent in the back 2 corners blowing air up in the angle toward the light in the middle of the top of the tent. I mainly want the bottom 2 fans to blow air near the bottom of the 2 flowering plants in the tent. The 2 top fans blowing down would likely be enough air for the 2 in veg in there tent.

Do you think that 4 fans are ok to use in a tent that small or is that too many fans to do for it on there? How many fans would you use in a tent that size and where would you put the fans in the tent for it on there?

I think 2-3 would be fine. You're on the right track with the placement - you want them to circulate air from the bottom to the top and vice versa. Little known fact is that the temperature, humidity, and air movement is most important on the UNDERSIDE of the leaves, where the stomata are located.

Thanks. Is there a problem from having more than you may need? I want really good air flow to reduce the risk of problems. I have 3 of the little 6 inch clip on fans and run them on low on there. The 2 fans at the top of the tent blowing air down look to be doing a good job of moving the leaves at the top of the plants but I wanted to move air under the buds and got the next fan to do that but the plants are very short and bushy and I have to move leaves to the side to water it. I do not see how the 1 fan would move air under the buds of more than 1 plant at a time and I want to move air under both of the 2 flowering plants in the tent which is why I was thinking of using 4 fans 2 blowing air down and 2 blowing air up and on the low setting. Would that have any problems do you think? The fans on the low setting only move the leaves a little I would likely not have the 4 fans blowing air very fast on the leaves only on the low setting on the fans in the tent on there.

Wind burn... But it all depends on how ya set it up. Personally I feel fans blowing down on leaves is kinda usless. Blowing between the plant and light may help with radiant heat but not blowing down on the leaves. Good flow under and through the canopy is imo the key.

In a bigger room it would make sense but you have you exhaust at the top and intake at the bottom and with one maybe 2 fans you have excellent air mixing and should have good flow through the plants.

Just my opinion

Thanks. I am growing autos that I do not want to defoliate but if I did plan to defoliate the plants I think less fans near the bottom of the tent would do what I want on there. I could use the 3 fans and have 2 blowing up from the bottom and only 1 blowing down from the top. I would rather have more fans on low setting than less fans on high setting on there. I do not think with it on the low setting that it would have wind burn on the plants on there.

I'd say its more than just your opinion, physiologically the plants dont give a rats ass if there's air movement on tops of the leaves. No stomata up there!

Thanks. If you blow down on the tops of the plants does that not help with prevention of mold and help with flying bugs on there?

If you have good air movement through the canopy not down on... Then no it's doesn't help

If you have no airflow under or through the canopy then yes even but not optimal

Thanks. I have the 32x32 tent with the 6 inch fan with filter that even on the low setting it pulls in the sides of the tent and pulls that air through the 2 vents in the bottom of the tent. Then what if I move 1 fan down and do 2 fans to the back 2 corners of the tent at the bottom of the tent angled to blow the air up to the middle of the top of the tent where the light is? The 2 flowering plants are in the back of the tent then they would get most of that air then have 1 fan blowing down to the top of the plants on there.

I already gave my opinion this .. in the end it's your choice to make. If you want 4 fans in there then put 4.
