Quick question, no clue on strain but was wondering if a 2 gallon pot will suffice to flower in? Plants are around 10-14" was going to start flower on june first when I take my smaller plants out. Should I up them to 5 gallon to flower in?

Depends on how experienced you are and what you plan to feed. If I were doing organics, I'd use the bigger pots. Also depends on strain. Fast blooming indicas don't need as big of container as a late blooming monster sativa.

What I figured, that it depended on strain. This is my first grow but I'm pretty confident in being tasked with feeding more due to less soil retention. Also I have a good ppm and ph tester.Just didnt know if I transplant what time frame till I can flip lights. Starting to harden off younger plants for outdoor and want to switch lights by june 1st.

Sounds like you just answered your own question. Leave them in 2 gallon pots and feed bottles. gl and happygrowin

Kk figured 5 gallon be easier just didnt know if transplanting is alright todo right before flowering?

I finish in 3 gallon pots. I find 5 gallon way too big and too heavy, Hard to get water timing right, 3 gallon pots take 1 gal liquid ( water or feed) and takes about 3-4 days to dry. 5 gallon takes 2 gallons to feed or water and 5 days or more to dry ( for me) under my 1000w hps 83-85f @ 45%

A waste of water and nutes for small plants in large pots.

Nice plants, I'd be happier with 3 gallon more pots in my room!! Going to get fabric pots from here on out. Is 2 weeks enough time before switching to 12/12?

I am using soil and perlite, dr earth is brand.

If you're gentle with your girls in transplanting there's no reason they should receive much shock. All they should know is they have room to grow.
When the plant is in need of watering/feeding or just before.
Have the hole ready in the new pot, squeeze the sides of the pot your plant is in and tap the bottom even before flipping over. grasp the stalk between your fingers with your whole hand covering the top of the soil, flip it over it should slide right out if not tap tap the bottom. Then once out don't touch the roots slide it into the new pot. If you have a rooting powder you can add that to the hole before transplanting ( I don't use it) When they get too big you may need help. ie: from 3-5 gallon & up. After its in the pot add more soil to fill in any gaps, then water or feed depending on its needs to seat the plant into its new home.

I don't put mine directly under the lights but on the sides of the room for less intense light 1st day then its back to normal after that.

yes if you're gentle with them. Knock them around drop them or grab the roots with dirty hands or damage them and 2 weeks would be cutting it close. Do it carefully and it's plenty of time.

3 gal. Should work, maybe 5's depending how long you veg them, but I wouldn't use 2 gallon size for soil, hope this helps!

Maybe 5 gal next time, they are short for how long they been going. Had a rough start but got it worked out.

Me and my wife do other plants and have done it enough I'm not fumbling it around lol. I have butyric acid I use for our house plants. Would this be advised? But tend to use it more for when we split root balls, rather then upsizing pots.

The bigger ones was started the beginning of april, and the smaller ones a couple weeks after.

I only use 5's when plants veg too long, I use threes 95% of the time or more. Can't answer your other question, best of luck!

Light all the way up getting around 500 fc, normally I have them around 2k. Should that be fine? Also younger plants are outside starting to harden off.

Concur on the the 3g pots, great size for most indoor gardens. Its all I use.

I wanted to go 3 but wasnt sure, read a few times if Vegs long then 5 gal. Better safe then sorry. It took 1.7gal for runoff, but get a gal every 20min from ro. Guess always keep 2 gal per plant, but if I can water less due to size of pot the only real loss is evaporation. But with soil temps being lower then ambient temp evaporation is slowed....or is this a wrong assessment?

Room temp is typically 80 top of plant is 75-77 dirt is 70 to to 71 under the plant and same temp as top around the outer ring(where plant ismt shading yet). As of 30 seconds ago I had 79 f 60% rh plant 77 soil under plant 70 edge of pot 77.
