Just about ready to go so I figured I’d start this off now. HLG 600h R Specs in a Gorilla 3x3 shorty. Gonna be running a scrog style grow. Coco with GroSum Nutrients in 3 gallon Smart Pots. Pop’d some Lemon OG and Rocky Road beans in water tonight. Here my setup so far.
Gonna say that light prob never run much more than half power but just gonna make it more efficient. Nice little setup ya got there.

Once I set my scrog screen I’ll measure the Lux so I’m not adjusting so much.
Veg 15,000-50,000 LUX
Flower 45,000-65,000 LUX
Hoping to keep it in the happy zone for veg at the canopy and during the flip/stretch they’ll get closer to the LED for more micromoles, and if I have to adjust it’s good to have that option.

24 hours in water and 24 in paper towels both Lemon OG and Rocky Road had nice tap roots so they went into Royal Gold coco on an 18/6 light schedule and light set about 7300 lux. No nutrients yet just light spray with ph/ro next couple days maybe light feeding just to get the coco going. Had the dimmer down to its lowest but it’s touchy, after sitting a couple hours off I went to turn on today and lights wouldn’t turn on because the dimmer was so low, turned it up a bit hopefully it was just at that sweet spot of on and off.

24 hours and my beans are starting to sprout! 2 Lemon OG and the Rocky Road. Hopefully that third Lemon will show herself by tomorrow. Got the Gro Sum Nutrients going also, 213 ppm 5.8 ph to start them out with. Tent temps are 75-81f depending on the time of day and all with 7300 lux.

Popped 3 more Lemon OGs in water last night now a night in the towels and looks like the 3rd Lemon OG in my garden is starting to show. Feed again today 5.9 298ppm feed jumped up a bit but they look to be thriving. 7300 lux 74-75f

Gardens doing great, the other 3 lemon og’s sprouted yesterday and today are showing cotyledon leafs so only 2-3 days behind the others. Setting up my scrog today, double layer 8” apart still gotta measure smart pots so I can get about 18” from top of pot to my first canopy. 7300 lux 328ppm 5.8ph

Back on track now FML!! So my first feed I picked up from my guy at Gro Sum was way off, was supposed to be 213ppm on his pen. Unfortunately when I received my pens a few days later and only after feeding twice I realized the feed was 465ppm. Needless to say it started frying my girls. Cut it down to 265ppm and new growth is coming in. Just because you’re a “Master Grower” does not mean you are the all knowing being of cannabis lol CALIBRATE YOUR PENS, OFTEN!!!

Amen to that!!! Do you have a PAR meter as well man? Definitely far more accurate than LUX with LED. Saying that, I sure don't have one yet lol

Can do a crude estimation with this if needed:

I'm definitely following along 👌

Cheers!

Yeah PPM meters can do some funny stuff when the batteries are low. They usually are pretty accurate even with minimal calibration.

Parameters look good.

What's the humidity?

Its looking like light stress, with some already damaged they may like it a bit lower like 5k lux. I agree an actual par meter is the best if you can afford it. I did the same thing with my recent seedlings 3/20 got bleached but they are recovering. Some phenos/strains may be a bit more sensitive to light even if we have it at a reasonable level some can still show stress.

If using an app a lot will be dependent on the photo sensor of the camera so less accurate but I find it close on mine.

Good look on the calculator I’ve seen that one before but not sure what spectrum to put it at for my HLG 650h. Par meters are pricey too I wish I could get one but $400-500 isn’t in my funding at the moment.

I’m in a very dry climate but it’s around 30-35% now but I know I could use a bit more, gonna get a small humidifier today. I really can’t go much lower in lux, I have the dimmer down all the way just before it shuts off but I’m almost certain the 465ppm the 4 days it’s sat in that was most the problem. I noticed it but couldn’t do much because my pens hadn’t came in yet, soon as they did I adjusted immediately! Kinda against the wall so far on my feed.
What are you guys using? Technaflora, AN, Canna etc.

Exactly man! I was told yesterday that it's "easy" to make your own if you buy the sensor, but that's all I was told 😅

Right now I'm using mega crop but any balanced nutrient will work.

Yeah that humidity is likely why they are more sensitive. With a very small root system they can't pull enough water from the soil to keep them cool and allow them to photosynthesize efficiently. I did a thread a while ago that may interest you and explains how plants transportation rates affect growth and plant stress/health. It's not something you need to go by religiously but the closer you can get the better.
