So i always lose the smell on my bud this is why I’m making this post. Some of my buds smell REALLY DANK but then when i drys them for a couple days they start losing there smell someone told me don’t let them dry out all the way and put them in a paper bag for 2 week and just turn it over 2 times a day every 12 hours I’ll be straight if it’s 60% humidity but it’s been a week and i don’t see the same smell coming back maybe i shoulda done a smaller paper bag? Also after i always jar them and burb them but i just feel like i never get the smell down am i doing something wrong?

Are you letting them go to 12 weeks ? I had that problem going the 10 week route, I changes to 12 weeks and I’ve got stinking heads after curing use paper bags always have it works well in my climate after curing I shove it in my big tin and job done .

Just like anything on this earth, freshier the better ( exp the terps ) and if you kill them in your prices and cureing , even in one step or degrade it in the beginning = no wonder it’s lost

one of the biggest thing I see are you wet trimming? ( big no-no in my big books for so many reasons )
1. a plant when it’s in that 7-14 days is so sensitive to light, humidity and air if you mess with that . For example a lot of growers trim or keep lights on in the trim area or go back in forth to check the buds = that can heavily degrade it

next step is airflow in drying ( if your proply drying it, meaning hang drying it) humidity (55-60% than airflow should move around but never directly on the buds, if you can get the temps below 70f
2.
right after the 7-14th day feel for the “ crack” on the stem for your knowing if the plant is ready, you just don’t want it to be too dry, it’s all about the stem sticking on there but cracking . Than I even suggest if you have multiple plants getting 5 gal food grade buckets ( you can easily get em at Home Depot or misc and gamma seals )than you can store a lot more than jars and when your trimming it, much easier and more productive .

3.
after the 3rd-4th day in the bucket/jar start your burping of the jars .i would burp the jars for 30min-1hr and do it for 7-14 days on your presence and get yourself a digital humidity meter for the jar and test to see if the humidity % is good, once 60%, stop . I use integra boost humidity 60g silica (better brand than boveda and they don’t harden into a stone so you can reuse them multiple times With no problems .

4. After trimmed , if you keep all your stash in jars, have you realized even after 40-60 days it degrades or the smells are gone ( if you didn’t fuck up from the get go? That’s because jars suck at keeping air in and if your not a air nazi and keeping in a dark area as well = degrade as well

solution. = keep less or 30-60 days worth amount for you/and sales or patients In heat sealed bags right after you trim, that makes it so not only are you preserving the best of your buds terps and flavors and cannabinoids because after I started doing this my bud can smell the day it was trimmed and in the bucket if it goes in those heat sealed, it the jar stuff dies, within weeks

they make a “smaller version but the smaller version fits lb”

think of potato chips or similar junk food, ever wonder how you can buy cooked and proceed potato chips that are prolly a month old and then ok de you open them up , most people think “ man I need to keep that air out” well that all those chip companies did was they removed the air from the bag with nitrogen and that’s why they become so stall when you open your bag, Inless you nitrogen bag em again .
