UPDATE: GROW-WEEK-2-D30 - G5GW2D3
Day 30 - Since germination
Weekly Target PPM
1590336262093.png

Ladies are doing well. PPMs' are within range or perhaps just a bit low; but then i have to remember i now have a full load of enzymes which accounts for about 155-200 ppm. That puts my real number @ 670-620.

I OD'd the Kind-base and had to remove & replace 10 gallons to bring the numbers back into alignment... oops 😠

Well shit, that was F'n dumb!

Here I am wondering why in the world i am having a cal/mag problem on my new kids and my new feeding routine (first clue)?

Then after the brain cells reconnected and began firing at a decent rate, I remembered. The aspirin and mag. additive "Sweet" were supposed to be used during flower AFTER I quit using regular cal/mag. D'oh! 😠 So I cleaned up all of the dead and dying, then provided a big ole' drink (50%) of Cal/mag; and now we wait and see. Talk about stupid; talk about stoned... 🍻

Not the way to start a grow....

Oh, and the little buggers have started to flower already.... this is weird! (last three photos)

Day 34 - Since germination
Weekly Target PPM - Now have a full load of enzymes which accounts for about 155-200 ppm. That puts my real number @ 687-643.

I also found out that my ppm probe is acting up. It seems to consistently read about 50 ppm higher then the hand-held meter.

UPDATE: GROW-WEEK-3-D36 - G5GW3D2 - Tuesday 02 June 2020
Day 36 - Since germination
Weekly Target PPM - Now have a full load of enzymes which accounts for about 100-150 ppm. Add to that my 50 ppm meter error and that puts my real number @ between 850-800 ppm.

Temp is a little low, will raise it a few digits. Hot as hell here today and A/C went into overdrive and threw the chiller off (it is on slow sample cycle). PPM's are off just a bit, I will make adjustments with tomorrow with a couple of extra gallons of top-off.

You are getting ppm readings from your enzymes? I dont at all, I add about 80 ml of enzymes to 18 gallons of nutrient solution and it doesnt change the ppm one bit, but it foams up like mad from the yucca.

Usually I try and stay at 63-65 degrees. Been having a problem with one of the chillers. It seems i had a plugged up sponge filter. Anyway, If you go all the way back to the beginning of my log you will see that has been my avg temp for almost two years now. However with the yields that i have had, I see no reason not to bring it up a few degrees. I have never even come close to 70 degrees. I feel confident enough now that i can bring it up to 66 or 67. Whit this particular strain, I see no reason to go higher than 67. The engineer in me likes that 3 degree buffer as long as it is not harmful to the type of plant being grown.

Yes the enzymes i use comes with a high particulate count and I don't know enough about the formulation to know specifically what part is doing the damage. The particulate level is so high that after I add a full measure; It will plug the sponge filter in the circulation pump. When i get to 100% dosage, I no longer add for the duration of the grow. Once I rinse out the sponge filter the next day we are good to go. In my quest to reduce overall ppm content of my grow, that will be my next target.

Normally I dose @ 100% on initial fill and do the rest of the run with Hydroguard, along with a 25% booster about 2 weeks after flowering begins. I changed that up to work with the step method i outlined at the beginning of this grow. I will probably go back to single dosing and a booster.

Here are the results of my one gallon PPM test for this one specific additive!

Hello fellow Farmers!

Can we please discuss the enzymes you are using; 🍻 and why. 😎 Please remember i am a hydro grower. Please let me know what your use case is Hydro vs Soil. I need to kick this investigation/research off now so that i am ready by the time i recycle the now empty cabinet. To stay on my self sustaining mission, I have to have the next pair soaked & popped by July 1, that means they will be in the rez by around the 10th.

Thanks in advance for you help and advice! 🍻🥂

Oh! and I raised the rez temp. Set point is 65-67 🍻 It will take about 24 hours for it to settle down to 67F degrees. Right now it is cycling between 66-68.

I use a product called "Enzymes Komplete" Its cheaper than hygrozyme and better, or so I'm told by quite a few people. It's a liquid, doesnt change ppm one bit, doesnt clog anything, has yucca in it to help the enzymes get where they need to go... Its good stuff. And absolutely works, very very well.

I run coco with an automated drip system so basically hydro for all intents and purposes.

Thanks guys, I will begin investigation & research on Enzymes Komplete!

I like the zero footprint. A Lot! 😎 🍻
