I would never pick leaves off a plant that size. The plant will pull all of the nutrients it can out a leaf before it will kill the leaf so let them stay on for now.

There is something not totally correct with your grow. It could be several things. What is the light source (type and watts) how far away is the light. Have you been feeding the plant anything? What is the media?
