Trimming off leafs during veg

Hey everyone. This is my 1st post on here. So please bare with me on how this all works. I've have 4 growing seasons under my belt up here in Maine. I've learned alot but am always learning more n new ways to do stuff. I was just wondering if it's worth trimming off some of the leafs to let some light in. The plants I have this year have more leafs then previous ones ive grown at this point in the grow season. Or should I just leave them alone. Here is a picture of a few I have. What would you do?

That would very much depend on your goals. Personally outdoors in natural sunlight I can't think of a reason I would if I had healthy plants.

If your in a very rainy climate maybe to open it up if it's very compact growth like a heavy indica to prevent pm.

But I'm an indoor grower so take that with a grain of salt.

My Father always said only remove the leaf when your plant is harvested and curing , the engine can now be switched off . OD .

Agree 100% with OD and Aqua man, never cut a leaf that will help fuel your buds, outside especially so.

Its not the vegging that's hard in our northern climate its the finishing. I've had bad luck growing outside because of cold, fog and damp weather in October just when I need sunshine the most. It's bud rot that made me an indoor grower. Good luck you're off to a great start and welcome from across the bay.

When I top and I top a lot, I get a lot of what I call extra leaves and I clean up a lot of them as they grow

Thanks for the input. I'm just gonna leave them be. It was just an idea I had after burning 1. Lol. I agree pipe Carver about the finishing being harder. in maine it's a shorter grow season for sure. I've had problems in the past with powder mildew and bud rot.

People do have success growing up north. One guy here from Edmonton Alberta grew some monsters outdoors but he had to take drastic measures. He built a green house around them, installed a wood heater, bought a thermal blanket to cover the top and a bed , dogs and fishhooks to ward off geriatric night prowlers. lol

I can see what your getting at I can sympathise a bit there I have a climate that can change for the worst , as the for a short finishing period , I had to build a modest but tiny almost finished glass house with a red brick base it traps the sun very well and fits my 4 summer backyard gorilla grow it gives me that extra 4 to 6 weeks extra as my winter draws near , I’m going to finish it of so I can try a winter crop way down here in Tasmania . OD .
