You do this when your tent doesn't have an inlet screen? My tent has a huge rectangle screen at the bottom for inlet air. Do all tents not have this?

No I seal up all those ones , my lights on is at night when I’m home so I make sure no light leaks in the day time , run your exhaust 24/7 works for me like a charm , cheap n easy farm fix . Regards Od .

Ah ok got it. I've only been growing Autos, so light leak isn't a concern for me ATM. But, it sounds like your vent is more of a light filter than it is a particle filter.

It'll depend on your inlet volume and your outlet volume, if your inlet is passive of forced. If your outlet is forced with a fan and your inlet is not, you'll need a larger inlet area to account for the lack of forced air.

Gotcha. Yeah I’m running a 4” inline fan forcing air out. With just a vent a little more than halfway open.

Plenty large enough. The area of a 4” circle is around 12-13sqin. That 12x7 is 84sqin, many times over your forced outlet. I’d be surprised if you had negative pressure, assuming your inlet is at least half open.

Just saw your other post about maybe slight negative pressure. You could always just open up the inlet to max to see how that goes.

I don’t know what else to try, I’ve tried playing with the positive and negative air pressure, different fan set ups, even different rh.

Is your inline fan blowing air in the tent or out? When you say its blowing a lot of air around in the tent it makes me think that you have the airflow going the wrong way. For the passive airflow that onedrop mentioned to work the inline fan needs to be sucking the air out of the tent (out the round duct/tube) which will then the passive draw of fresh air from other available vents or openings. In other words, the open end of the inline fan inside the tent should be the vacuum that pulls air in through the vents rather than a blower that pushes air out the vents. If you already have it this way then I just misunderstood your wording, carry on.

Yeah where I got it I’ve gotten best results. It’s a slight negative air pressure. The plants are loving it. Also my first runs trying out organic and some new products under this 315w cmh got the Phillips bulbs, good genetics so I’m hoping for the best. Thank you everyone for all the advice and help!!!!

ok so in the morning my temps are up. (the tent doesn't get opened for a long period of time) after leaving the tent be overnight my temps in the tent are up to 86 with it being in the shade in the canopy. the leaf temps are up to 80 but the drop very quickly after opening the tent. this made me thought about what gashuffer said so I opened up an extra vent. and no change. one plant is showing a little heat stress with the leaves cupping up but after opening the vents she's gone back to normal. I eel beaten hahaha is this light just to much for this room and I can't cool it down without taking extreme measures? do I need to switch to led?

HID definitely runs much hotter. You need to increase the air exchange and/or switch to LED if temp is an issue.

What size tent and exhaust fan do you have?
