Can weed smell travel through the floor ?

So my grow room is located above the entrance to my family business and recently I’ve just begun to smell it. About a week ago someone mentioned that something smelled like weed but I didn’t pay it any mind but today I went downstairs and I deff can smell it. I have 6 plants at week 6 of flower in a grow tent and my floor is carpeted with padding underneath. My question is can weed smell travel through a grow tent floor and 2 layer of carpet through the floor ? my apartment where I grow the weed doesn’t even smell.

this is my first grow so the scrubbers are only a few months old. The weather where I live has gotten hot lately so maybe that plays a role. I’m just confused why my house smells fine but the space below me smells

If you can, turn the fan speed down a bit. The slower you can pull air through those filters, the better they scrub the smell.

I’ll give this a try. would turning them down also help with lowering humidity levels ?

Answer ... HELL YES ......carbon or not , weed creeps thru EVERYTHING , be careful if it is a concern ....

Let me put it to you this way , I used to live in a city apartment , there was a dealer on the ground floor , I lived 6 floors up , when he would open a fresh lb bag in his apartment , I would smell it in my bedroom , I call him and told him to be careful , he told me I was full of shit , I didn't really care and we were friends , I just laughed and told him to be careful , he was one of those know it all types and told me I was smelling my neighbors bud next door or some random smoker ,So I laughed and said ok , cool
I waited a year then i called him and told him " you just opened the bag " right ?
Did it 3 or 4 times , he said , holy shit , how did you know , I told him , remember our conversation last year ? Totally freaked him out ........

I know the carbon doesn’t completely eliminate the smell but I just figured it wouldnt smell one floor below 😂.

the floor below has drop ceilings so Im thinking about putting a few ona gels in the drop ceiling

Hey grow , didn't mean to get you worried , if it's a small grow and you use the proper filtration you will be ok , and some room freshness stuck in the ceiling will work ......

So I’ve been thinking about the smell problem Im having. It seems like the problem is worse during the lights off period (8am-8pm). I have been having trouble keeping humidity down during lights out since the plants have been flowering. Could the smell problem be happening because of the humidity rising in the tent rising during those hours ? I heard ppl talk about humidity making carbon filters less effective.

I’m just trying to get this problem figured out because I’m in week 7 of flower so I have about a week or two to go plus drying.
