I did a res change 5 days ago. I am using RO, GH trio +calmag and si, and hydroguard. The first few days the res was clear, but today I found this film floating around in the res and on the pump filter.

Can I get some help identifying this, and whether there is anything to do besides a res change?

Diatoms. They feed off silica. Make sure you have no light leaks. Harmless

🤙 Thank you. The system I bought from Super Closet is designed terribly. The gravity fed return lines are almost at the lid of the buckets so any imperfection in leveling and the water level is up to the top of the hydroton, probably the massive source of light leak causing this. SMH. I should have stuck with the round 5 gals I built to use temporarily while these were on backorder.
