Hello all, I'm a new grower who is gonna try with an indoor grow tent. I have ordered a 4x2 Mars Hydro tent, Mars Hydro TS1000 light, AC Infinity T4, Carbon filter, and a bunch of gadgets to help me control the waters/nutes balance etc.... I have also been handed down a few more things including another 1000w light and 300w light. All this being said I'm wondering if I should up my tent size to 4x4 and if doing so would I then need to return the T4 for an T6? I'm looking to keep maybe 2-3 plants going at a time. Have grown outdoors this season only and plan to carry on inside after harvest this fall in the same medium(soil) as the summer. After a couple grows I may start to try other mediums, but until I get some experience under my belt I'm sticking with the promix soil from the hydroponic stores. Any tips, pointers and possibly setup styles would be appreciated.

My outdoor plants picture from the weekend past. Would assume flower is in the next week or 2. Planted June 18th in the larger pots. Received as clones June 11th and put in smaller pots from a solo cup.

When I start my indoor grow for the first time I stumbled across this stuff which Lowes is practically giving away for $4 a bag. Has anyone used it before? Does it seem like a good option for an inexperienced grower to start with?

$4 a bag is a steal. Won’t have to feed for a while though.

Is that because of the organic properties? @BurnzYzBudZz I notice on the bag itself the nutrient levels are all under 1-1-1. Which I'm thinking is alot less then say a bag of miracle grow if I remember which I was told when I started outside to not use. I guess just maintaining the ph and moisture levels for the first 2-4weeks wouldnt be the worst for a noob.

So as my equipment is showing up slowly and surely I have a few questions about setting it all up.
1. Electrical power bar inside or outside tent?

2. Is there a standard height for the lights or do all manufacturers require different distances from the plant at different stages of growth?

3. I noticed my handme down 1000w light is blurple, the other LED one I ordered is not, will this cause problems throughout my grow?

4. Is there certain materials I want to avoid in the tent like metal or garden yarn?

5. Should I be using black zip ties over clear/white ones?

6. Is it okay that my lights are rated for a larger canopy coverage then the size of my tent?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions 🍺

Everything is here, didnt get any replies to my questions so just tossed it together like the few pictures of other people's tents. May have to redo things if there not done right. Just have to vent it out the window above the tent, hang the 2 clip fans and should be ready to go..... I think anyway.

Let me know if I missed something or need to fix/adjust something. 🍺

1) outside

2) different

3) I'm HID, so idk

4) ?

5) no

6) see #3

Did not see your questions mr. Sponge hope these answers help! The only thing that I personally would do different is I put my fan on the roof of the tent outside to eliminate the added heat inside the tent, if heat becomes an issue that might help, best luck!

Thanks will take care of that this weekend. I've since returned the mars light to Amazon for the Kingbrite QBs. So will have abit to do yet which I'm fine with as I hope to get my outdoor finished up before getting tent up and running. Ordered the lights last night so may be awhile waiting on those anyhow.

As for the #4 question I was wondering if it's okay to have metal in the tent or will it rust? Garden yarn was worrying maybe of molding. Since it's gonna be the first tent run I dont really know what the climate will be like and was wanting to avoid stuff that wont fair well in those conditions. 🍻

I would only put the fan outside if I thought heat was going to be an issue otherwise it's fine like it is

The changing of your lights was a great choice

metal is fine and I don't know what Garden yarn is

Thinks these ladies need to be separated. They have grown to the point where they are touching eachother. May need to move one to the other side of the deck.

So alot has changed. Have ordered some autos. Sent the mars hydros back for the Kingbrites. 1 240w split heatsinks and 1 125w. I sourced a dehumidifier from a guy at work and now have if I need it. Now officially waiting on the beans.

I mounted the drivers outside the tent. Now just have to upgrade to a better surge protector. Lastly I picked up a 5lbs fire extinguisher for worst case scenario.

Also finally found bamboo stakes. Built a wee trellis net to help with the weight in flowering. Have been to about 7 store in different towns and found them in the last place I looked.

We have people coming over tomorrow night and was wondering if having a fire in the back will cause any side effects with the plants? Since they are in 20g pots I can move them to the side of the house. But if it's not going to affect it, my back would rather take the day off. Any advice would help ease my anxiety.

So did the Black hulk today with the stakes. Will get Mango tomorrow.
