Researching the use of Hammerhead, understand there are some toxicity issues. Looking for opinions.

No there are not toxicity issues. I use it week 4-6 of flower with great success.

listen to this guy, he knows what hes talking about, @BillFarthing ive just been looking at making a flush solution, just wondering what you used and I spotted this thread. Theres the clearex version which is just dextrose and normal whate sugare plus an optional preservative, or theres a link to another recipe that use bicarb and salt along with glucose. but this is an isotonic mx that I believe if I read it right, needs to be at the same EC as the nutrient solution youre trying to replace. Think Im just going to go fo rthe clearex as thats the closest to cannas flush product that I would Usually use. Would love an good 2nd opinion

Thanks

Hey Fudgy, looks like you have been doing your homework.

Ideally, you would match the EC of nutrients levels with an isotonic solution in flush. As long as you have at least 50-250 ppm, it will flush nicely without leaching nutrients potentially bursting cell walls, hurting yield, extracts etc.

Ive been trying ha, So is the mix thats just dextrose and sugar basically doing the same thing without the risk of leaching nutes, just obviously i can get salt and bicarb and glucose from my local shops so would be a lot easier to make, but I wasnt sure with it saying on the wiki if you like to experiment then use this, me being me, had to look haha, it intrigued me more the isotonic method as the science was sound on it . but im also a fan of getting the sugars in during flush as i normally use molassas. Im just such a procrastinator that I have trouble settling on one method and going for it . Hence why I was after a good solid opinion,,

What method do you use for flush?

I've used homemade clearex, hard tap water (200 ppm) and fulvic acid and fulvic with potassium sulfate. They all work.

Avoid the "bro science" and do what works for you.

It's always going to be cheaper to mix up your own recipe, so yes.

Hammerhead 0-9-18

Mono Potassium Phosphate 107g
Potassium Sulphate 68g
Magnesium Sulphate 4g

how much water do i mix this into mate, or is it x amount of powder per liter of diluted feed, thanks, just run out of pk13/14 so im replacing everything slowly.
Then once these crops are out the way ill be going the whole hog and moving to completely dry base nute mixes too. I now have dry calmag and ordered the stuff for my own flush mix, now my bloom additive (also ever used triacontanol as ive noticed a few blooms have this in) and giberellic acid keeps being mentioned along with the tria, I know its a Plant growth hormone but supposedly one of the good ones that wont feck stuff up

Thanks again

Mix up the dry salts in this recipe. Use 1 tsp./5 gallons feed water weeks 4-6 of flower.

Other than rooting compound, hormones are an easy way to mess your plants up. Haha.

Thanks mate, really appreciate ur knowledge, think ill give the tria a miss.. best plants i have ever grown was my 1st time for someone else 5 years ago, they were bubblegum clones and pulled 9oz of the biggest, and all I used was canna base and pk boost and they were so big smelly and hard it was unbelievable. ive struggled to reproduce that this time(but im close) so think ill dial it back and stick to the simple feed schedule again
