Here it goes, another lighting thread

I just finished my first grow not to long ago and I got about 3.5 ounces out of a 1 plant. I am growing in a 2x3x5 tent with a viparspectra 600w blurple style light. See pic. It says 600w but I looked at the sticker and it doesn’t say what the wall wattage is so who knows

I would like to upgrade to either the SpiderFarm 1000 or the ViparSpectra xs1500.

Below is a pic with specs for the ViparSpectra

And here is a pic of the SF1000

They are pretty identical in specs in my eyes also about the same in price. So my question is which do you guys recommend and have had good experience with.

Thank you

The pro series of viparspectra is on sale now so I'd go for that. For $70 less you can get the p1500 or for $20 more you can get the p2000. (CAD)

I heard the xs series is actually a little Better than the P series. I’d like to get some feed back from people who have possibly used both and see which they likes Better.

I’m leaning towards viparspectra over sf1000

I picked up the p1500 for one of my 2x2 and it runs cool, not too much heat compared to the Mars hydro t600 that had my tent at 88° 😅

So iv done research to compare the two light xs model and “P” model. The biggest differences is the meanwell driver and the Samsung diodes that were put into the xs. (Requested by the people)

Ya those were the main differences. I’m leaning towards the XS for the Samsung and meanwell.

Go for it and let me know, I personally went with the p1500 because I got it for just over $100.. (101.99 on Amazon) if it weren’t on sale I probably would of bought the xs.

The ppfd map is a little better on the xs1500 than the p1500 but it's way more expensive. Also I think the spectrum is a bit better on the xs.

Bump, can anyone vouch for the viparspectra ? I’ve heard good stuff for spider farm
Go to this website, this guy tests and compares lights well, according to him and his tests, the viparspecta xs1500 is the best light for 6ft squared or under and spider farmer is the worst out of the ones he tested.

I have independently bought 6 lights from Viparspectra in their Pro Series for a variety of garden applications (growing cannabis, tropical plants, veggies, flowers, etc), including one that I gave to my own mother as a gift. I have not tried the XS series but I mean.....I think that is sufficient to state my opinion on their quality and effectiveness, right?

Specifically, I think the dimmer is great and the build quality is just solid. I have an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it....you have enough problems without looking for extra" mentality about lights.

That's my opinion but holy god I am not going to argue with people about it. Just sharing. If anyone tries to argue with me about specs or something I will put them on Ignore and never think about it again. I don't care. Just answering a request for personal experience.

I use 2 sf100's with great results

I have 2 sf1000's over super silver haze autos that are 6 weeks old since they were seed. I like the results. First time using dwc though. Its in a closet. Im in ga, the heat with 1 fan stays about 77 degrees

I've heard good things about all full spec LEDs, it all comes down to budget and preferences.

Agree it's pretty close to a commodity now and the major brand qb lights are pretty close for a hobby grower.

I think these cost about $175 on amazon. I actually just added the second one about a week ago. Theyre starting to show white hair here n there so i wanted more light because snappimg of the toos as they grew made them too wide

I didn't see before but the xs1500 has a discount code on the website and is only 136 usd which I think is cheap than all the others. But they don't ship to Canada from the website and are out of stock on amazon, plus they charge 25%+ more on amazon when they're stuff is available.🙄 Great lights but horrible customer service.
