Kanzeon is on the mark.. Politics is entertainment, and I treat it as such.
I'm absolutely not arguing about politics here, but....there are a whole lot of people in this industry who have worked very hard and sacrificed a lot because this just does not make sense.

Unfortunately, this insanity has consequences. Frankly, especially for this industry in the states and for a whole lot of people behind bars.

It's always good to know what your enemies are up to.
Unfortunately, their system is designed to only give us the illusion of our united ability to implement the changes we want.
I mean, fuck, I learned of the electoral college in what... 6th grade? Even at 12-years-old, I was pretty well aware of how hard I'd already been played before I was even eligible to start the game. And that's just the stuff on paper.
The real voting power is some fucked up equation of (shamelessness • manipulation) • (how many people you've fucked over • how much money you've stolen).
I hate being such a cynic. My wife also hates that. I do actually vote, but it's just to give her two votes and hold my marriage together.

I think the fundamental problem is something I allude to in my thread, which is where it will stay.

I just hate seeing the erasure of a lot of hard work that activists have done to move this country's attitude toward cannabis forward as mere entertainment. It makes me sad.

Hell, college Milson actually did some volunteering re: Michigan and its pot laws in the 00s before the caretaker program was launched. Not that I feel like my efforts are erased by some people on the internet or that I did terribly much.

Just stings a bit to see.

You said it brother ..... Again 👍🏼
Gotta get that knowledge and pass it on networked style. God knows nobody else is gonna do it. 💪💪💪

Actually picking up a portable work bench to do some planing in the condo. I'm very excited...been years since I got to work with wood much. Really since late childhood.

Plan is to get good at making wooden boxes so I can put stuff in them.

It's sad how much craftsmanship has gone to the wayside. One of the things I like about living in the city....some buildings actually built with some god damn pride sometimes. So much blandness out there...places that went up real quick in a boom and the work shows it. Try finding someone to do genuinely great stone work for a facade...just not a lot of options most places.

Something I admire about parts of italy and japan...a healthier artisan class. It shows with every step through their living spaces.

I don't really know what to say honestly. I feel bad for everyone getting screwed, but look at how legalization unfolded in Canada. Its actually more illegal now than it ever was, except you can now buy it from the govt... Its always a bait and switch in their favor.
All the activists who fought for years to legalize it ended up getting shut down and pushed out of the industry. Its ridiculous.

Yeah same thing in cali. We had much more rights and less taxes under med, but oh no we had to pay 30 dollars to Skype a doctor once a year.

The way california has done pot legalization is so messy and baffling to an outsider.

Yeah, I am familiar with the legislation in a bunch of states and its all pretty wonky.

but 215 was awesome in comparison

99 plant limit
County and city limits were not legally binding, so most cities had a 4-6 plant limit but it was just a guideline
Patients could sell direct to dispensaries
Only sales tax

prop 64
6 plant limit
Purchase limits
High taxes 30+ percent total
Possession limit (obsurdly low, its why I won’t post any dry weight numbers)
Local ordinances are legally binding, many cities outlaw growing entirely
Complicated supply chain where only distributors make money

I understand and apologize if my position sounds crazy. Its not a good state of affairs. I truely feel for the US, but after the 2012 election seeing how they manipulated the media to trash Ron Paul, I threw in the towel and gave up any hope for political reform in the US. That election made it abundantly clear that the people in power have rigged the game to keep things in their favor.

I've reached a point in my life where I tend to avoid participating in games that are rigged for me to lose is all.
As for me considering it entertainment now, I guess the more accurate analogy is Its like seeing a bad car accident, you know you're gonna regret it but you can't help but look.

Yeah no doubt. Should not have passed.

Again, I'm not trying to argue any side of anything other than saying that these things are more than entertainment for some of us sometimes.
