But the seeds made from nanners are more likely to be hermaphrodites?
The seeds from the nanners are 100% guaranteed to carry the DNA of the plant it came from. If the donor has hermie in her genes, it will pass on to the seeds. In any case, the seeds are almost identical to the hermed plant if it pollinated itself. If it pollinates another female, the offspring will be an all female cross. This is basically how feminized seeds are made.

Well I just learned more good stuff.

😊
Let's say you are using the method where you have stored male pollen and your using a paint brush to paint them on you wouldn't open the tent every other day and paint each new pistil you would wait until the 2nd or 3rd week and then hit them all at once right? 🤷‍♂️
No need to do that. I painted bud sites with 6 pistils and still get 30 seeds.

Well I’m down with this nice Loctite chocolate Tai has shown male so it’s in the male corner bar relaxing before all the sex .....

It turns out they think THC was started by a virus that invaded hemp a million years ago or some crazy thing like that I just downloaded it...😄
Pretty interesting that the genes for different cannabinoids are wholly different. Seems like that means in a hybrid vigor scenario you could capture both....

So what are the next steps for this project? Wait for seeds from @Grownsince95 and then whatever?
Should we plan out a group intent and goal/mission?

What’s the goal? Ibl? Anomaly? Fun? Community? Who’s spearheading this shizz?
What we doing so I can make sure I’m on same page as all you farmers.

The goal is all of those things you mentioned plus learning! I think I'm spearheading this shizz but I need help too so jump in!! The male getting flipped this week. I will be sending out the seeds by the end of January.

I think an early goal should be getting enough people growing the F1s to see what were working with and how the cross worked out and then select for F2. The F2 generation will be the "anomaly" bunch 😆

Ok so are we are popping beans and cutting out the males? Is there a point to keeping the males if we can all back cross with the same pollen from original male?

How are we incorporating everyone’s contributions to one IBL?

I see how we all get the f1’s but how do we collectively pursue the IBL? (If any of this makes sense, I lit a joint backwards to give you a bit of where I’m at right now)

I can do 8 flowering plants at a time but can veg a lot more smaller plants to cull through as many loosers as I can. I may wind up doing 2 runs before the F2 cross so I can at least see 16 plants full term.
Let's say @Hortulanus gets a pheno in the F1 that I haven't seen but looks amazing. I will just keep hunting until I find it. Then if we both select for it we can compare the results in the offspring.

Can also just ship pollen...or at least attempt it. Right? Then ship seeds out....no one person needs to be the nexus so long as at least one person is keeping records and preferably more to make the system more robust...right?

Shipping pollen seems hard but maybe not impossible....
