Ok so are we are popping beans and cutting out the males? Is there a point to keeping the males if we can all back cross with the same pollen from original male?

How are we incorporating everyone’s contributions to one IBL?

I see how we all get the f1’s but how do we collectively pursue the IBL? (If any of this makes sense, I lit a joint backwards to give you a bit of where I’m at right now)
No everyone should pick one male each generation and the best females and make seeds. So now you have the beginning of an IBL if each generation going forward you cross the siblings. We help each other by the numbers and the fact we are all breeding from the same 2 parents

Can also just ship pollen...or at least attempt it. Right? Then ship seeds out....no one person needs to be the nexus so long as at least one person is keeping records and preferably more to make the system more robust...right?

Shipping pollen seems hard but maybe not impossible....
I know the 1st post is a bit long winded but I think if we all follow that simple catalogue system I laid out exactly what you said could work

We might see a lot of phenotypic expression with all the different environments we each have.

If I grow some next year in raised beds with KNF inputs in northern gta I might get different colours or organoleptic properties then say someone who is growing indoors with a dialled in salt ferts dtw grow.

so some might not be repeatable but we will certainly see the diversity of these f1’s no?

Yeah again so long as everyone is doing their best to keep records with that system and then posts them, and we have people who are trying to keep everything straight from those posts, it seems like it would have a chance.

like let's say @Grownsince95 has found a sick female that he really likes but @Hortulanus has a sick male that people are gushing over. so long as someone is keeping track of everything, @Hortulanus could ship pollen to @Grownsince95 and then receive seeds in return. those seeds could also go out to whoever wants them. If records are being kept by multiple people, and we are all making an honest effort to keep everything straight, that could still be a dope evolution EVEN IF people are still finding cool stuff within the same generation that @Grownsince95 and @Hortulanus found their cool stuff from. So long as records are kept and we know what is what (everything is mapped...and i agree the system sounds good), natural evolutions based on interest could evolve and we could make a net of cool genetics created from the collective dream that is this thread.

or something. god i am stoned i am sorry if this is pretentious nonsense.

but then each line will go it’s own individual way no?

Edit: I can say this better maybe,
Each person would end up with a different ibl unless we all backcross with the same plant on occasion no? And then with each other’s best males or females.

Yes! And I am always optimistic but I am pretty sure it has a 99% chance of being an entertaining learning experience too!

That's the "beauty" of the plan. If I did it on my own I would never know if the selections were relevant but if we do it as a big collective we can see if our selections are making a difference if our plants look uniform and all that

Then we send each other seeds from the plants that we like to mix with ours when we see them pop up from other growers. They will all be from the same parents so technically parallel lines...cousins or whatever lol

I got a 1000 seed vials and a tiny funnel from the craft shop I’ll do my best to pollen collect n ship as possible if required already have sold some seeds to local under counter Head Shop in town from last season run . The seed vials look to be the best n safest way I can see . Od

I just know how ocd I am and hate wasted results. So if we can avoid this thing falling apart halfway through by keeping us all accountable in some way.
be it one person that’s managing it or a template chart and plan that we all follow with routine check ins at intervals, I don’t know but I think it could help with people who smoke cannabis daily 🀣

You’re making sense to me but maybe I’m just as stoned?

I think we need to focus on record keeping above all and just hope that the natural energy of attraction toward cohesiveness and concentrated good vibes keeps people interested.

But I am like, LIT.

Yes I’ve kept records and diaries mate also need to be tester grown out before you really know what’s what with the plant .

Ok so can it look like this:

we are all cracking f1’s and posting them here and at that point we can compare based on everyone’s data and photos they post in this thread and and perhaps have a forum wide vote at that time?

Should we all at least use one template record to standardize a bit? I know @amekins was working on a good one

People are going to get out if it what they put into it just like everything else. If only you, me @amekins and @Milson did it, it would still be really cool, fun and "worth" it right? Idk nothing in life is guaranteed especially with seeds so...
I've been saying forever that I want to learn breeding and I like the idea of a big group colab in the name if community and knowledge....even if that knowledge is what not to do when things go awry. Sometimes that's the most valuable info.

Shit I do that too often to count.
