I’m thinking it’s a winged aphid. https://www.mmad.ca/images/destructive_insects.jpg
I suspect they are leaving the coco and flying to find other food because the farmer is letting the coco dry out, leaving the aphids no food in coco. That’s when they grow wings and fly to the food?? Isn’t that what they do?Those sure look like winged root aphids. Id say its about 99% odds thats what youve got.
Can we also see a pic of the plant youre finding them in?
Strange you only find them jn the top of the coco and not the bottom or sides.
Looks. Like root aphid, however the colour is throwing me

Thank you for that info! Appreciate you always dirtbag.Same. But, ive seen young pale colred ones in the rootzone, and ive seen fliers that are basically black. Ive never seen them during the transition from root dwelling to fliers and i suspect thats what we're seeing here.
Could be. But usually they leave the pot due to population density, and they feed on the sap directly from the roots so the coco going a little dry shouldnt bother them too much as long as the plant isnt so dry it wilts. They will always grow wings and fly eventually.
Definitely, thank you!Thank you for that info! Appreciate you always dirtbag.

That’s just crazy. Thanks for the info. Little fuckers.not exactly. They attach to the roots and suck nutrients directly out of them. When they fill the root zone the adults grow wings and fly to the next pot and give live birth to a new root aphid that attaches to a root and starts feeding.
and they change color to camouflage themselves. Usually white on the roots but can be brown, black, tan etc.
Does that look like a tick to anybody else??View attachment 1056960View attachment 1056961
Maybe I'm high??
Yea , it looks like a tick but dirtbag is right about the antanee , if it's a deer tick , get that bastard out of the house before it ruins your life like one did to me ......Looks like a fucking tic
I fuxking love when you show up to the partying. I get all roudy. HahaAnyway if it was a tick it probably be buried in your ass not your coco ......

Are there a few or just that one ? Are you in the northeast where tics are common ....
Pulled 4 of them out of my body this summer , killed 3 in bed and pulled another 2 out of my wife ......Yep New Hampshire Every Spring!🕷 ..that's exactly where my mind went as soon as I saw the little bastard! And I've had more than one buried in my ass believe me
But I do agree it's likely an aphid, particularly after seeing the wings version, plus deer ticks don't crawl out of indoor coco grows, lol they used to come out of the marsh in my back acres
