A Forum Breeding Project (in more than 5 words)

Heh I'm on page 2 getting up to speed. I REALLY must be the forum's ahole cause I just stumbled on this thread and really like the majority of the people here AND I'm a bean popping, cloning, multi strain madman... but I hadn't seen this until I stumbled on it.

So we have a total of 6 strains mixed in the F1 daughter seeds. Now we have to WEED out (grow out) the 10 plants and observe. We will start at F2 and hopefully go to F5 to the IBL! Watching phenos and observing along the way.

So that‘s the seed genetics, the basic ground from where this FBP2020 or Fbomb starts. Everything that happens we can look back to the ROOTS of the mother and father for answers.

And please feel free to add to my research about the seeds. I went to the original source where the seeds were purchased “Insane Seeds.com”. The site is just a breeder site to purchase seeds from breeders. So I’m not sure how much you can trust a breeder. I don’t know if this project would be different if we started with seeds from a company vs a private breeder. Take that into consideration as well. Companies and breeders make mistakes so right now it’s all unknown territory. The plants will tell....HaHa!!

The site “Insane Seeds” doesn’t have the exact seeds available anymore so we can’t duplicate from the same breeder or compare. Scientists run the same experiment over and over to prove the results. That’s how you prove something scientifically.....but in this case it can’t be done. We can’t prove what strains are in the seeds but we can just keep going and see what happens!

The goal isn't to recreate what is here already (FBomb) but instead to pull preferred phenos out of each successive generation?

Were not out to prove anything I think your missing the point. Were trying to breed cannabis plants... I don't think it exactly works the way you are thinking because each plant is highly individual despite being from the same cultivar.

Cannabis breeding is not like a recipe where you take one of this and one of this, put it together and you get that... and if you want to do it again you just buy those same seeds and do it again and get the same thing..it doesn't work like that until you have bred and selected many plants to form the IBL. That would be like saying if you take a black Canadian and a Samoan and breed them you are going to get The Rock every time....

This project is highly dependent on the fact that all the plants grown are started from the same 2 parents

Awe geez, I’m being misunderstood I’m just saying if we try to prove the seeds genetics first then move on. That’s all.

I know we are just breeding plants yet I thought you wanted to pull out other characteristics to prove strains and species too along the way. Maybe I’m being to complicated about it or too detailed, my bad. I know the overall point is to grow and learn how to breed.

Just so we are on the same page..dad is a clone not a seed

AstroKush by Hazeman because seeds are expensive. I've got two fems that just started to flower. They dont have to go to full bud to pollinate. That little blue Cookies bonsai will kick out 40 to 50 seeds and then I dont have to wait for the plant to finish flower, just for the seeds to ripen. 10 weeks becomes 6 to 7. And its foot print is tiny, 9 x 6 x 3". Anyway had to bring him into the utility room. Too damn cold outside. When the top starts to bulk up, I'll snip it and paint a few lower branches on both fems. I want smoke out of them lol. Have plenty of blue cookies.

I'm not trying to say I know everything because I dont. I'm just uh trying to give you an excuse to overlook my bubbly charming sweet personality.

I haven't seen you talk much about this project and don't know a ton about the strains. Are you going for sweet indica with GSC power?


I think that any project anybody on the forum is working on would benefit from a spreadsheet like the one @amekins made if they want to make seeds available to other growers to sift through phenos.
