4 plants defoliated and cloned, 8 more to go!

One of the clones is from a side shoot that grew under the canopy and it turned into a trifoliate. How interesting!

I'm amazed at how the hours flew by.

I literally just spent 11 hours nonstop defoliating cloning and feeding.

These look hella beat up but they'll bounce back soon.

Also I've identified a couple of males and females, but the preflowers are still too small to really photograph.

Gonna let them recover then I'll be cutting down verified males and trellising the females.

Ok i decided to put all 12 in one tent just to see if they all actually fit in the 4x4 drain tray...

And they do!

I need to get something to add air around the base of the pots though like those rubber mats in restaurants or some other kind of plastic grid.

Thats a nice and even canopy

Edit: are you gonna run 12 plants in a 4x4?

Super nice work in here. Sorry i have been missing it.

i will say i tried a 315 cmh too and it is really only good to flower a bush in a 3x3 area or even maybe 2.5’x2.5’ area in my open flower room.

it was awesome paired with a 600 hps.

I'm considering getting a second light.

Honestly I really want a dual bulb cmh fixture but they are beaucoup bux.

CMH has a better spectrum and thus, outputs more PAR per kwh, and longer lifespan, which is why I'm going with CMH over HPS.

Weeded out 2 males based on preflowers. Starting to really closely inspect for the females to focus my efforts.

6 Females identified.
Next steps are going to be getting pot raisers and putting up the trellises.

Weeded out the males - i sprouted 12 beans expecting 6 to be male... So far i've identified 6 females and 1 suspected male, but I'll be flipping to 12/12 soon so we'll see if its 6 or 7 plants in a 4x4.

Still probably gonna be crowded :)

I'm hoping I get this right... I've identified 6 females and 5 males, 1 is giving me mixed messages.

I'm leaning towards male.

Update on the flowers

Started flushing one of the autos and reduced base nutrients for the other 5.

I'm getting impatient looking at these frosty spears.

So I hit up the hardware store and got myself a way to elevate the pots off the bottom a little.

I suspect I'm going to have to cut a few more holes into this louvered ceiling light paneling to aid in sucking up the runoff. Hopefully it's not more trouble than it's worth.

Then I went ahead and installed the first layer of trellis.

I hope I did it right. First time I'm sure I made a few mistakes.

A word of caution, when you're bending plants around, don't do it right after you feed them or they'll break.

These are getting kinda tall i hope they don't stretch too much.

thankfully MAC is a shorter stain and the CMH actually results in less stretch, which is another reason I went with this setup.

Hopefully it will all work out in the end.

And a trunk.

Looking forward to sending these to flower!

The results:

Looks like the netting is doing just fine.

I'm wondering how many bud sites I should allow each plant to have.

And don't forget about trichomes!
I just got my new Belomo triplet 10x loupe in the mail.

Not quite ready yet mostly cloudy very few amber trichomes.

My master gardener had a lot to say about my shortcomings in defoliating.

I'm still not done he says.

I will blindly follow because the results he's getting speak for themselves.

New years day I'll be flipping these to 12/12.

Happy new year!

I upped the ppm to 1000 and cut the calimagic. We're in 12/12 now you beautiful people!

Did some super cropping here and there. I'm trying to get all the budsites in view of the light at the same level. Not a easy as it sounds to get that nice even canopy.

Unless the yield is ridiculous, I'm thinking I'm going to veg for way less time ... maybe more plants in smaller pots too.
