Generally ot a smart thing to do just for shits n giggles; but if you just gotta, remember add acid to water, in order to gradually raise acidity of solution and avoid a reaction that can splash concentrated acid where you'd prefer not to get it.

This will give an exothermic reaction....way off from splashing friend....im talking about an uncontrolled fire if you font have the proper extinguisher you're in for a world of hurt....to say the least....if any got on you..i highly doubt you'd be able to stop the reaction quick enuff....it'll go throw skin n bone! Quick af..lmao....

You can dissolve diamond with this stuff. A hot dog will turn the liquid A dark color and burn the hotdog up...at the end liquid is as clear as it was before hand...

Good info guys. Thank you.

Quick side question. I’m a soil grower. I always mix micro first. Then gro. Etc. As the list goes. cal mag is at the bottom of the GH chart (for some reason) so naturally gets added almost second last as I went down the list...

BUT I add them to a gallon of water. I’ve never had problems with anything this way, and yet I’m adding calmag last. And also not mixing (didn’t know. Oops)

should I also be following the same techniques for soil? Ie: silica, mix, cal mag, mix, etc etc?

this chart is the order that I add stuff in, to a gallon of water. And sometimes let sit for days with a cap on. No stirring. Just squirt into the jug and done. Soil plants seem to be happy. Would they be happier if I followed directions better?

Silica and micros are the usual culprits. So for those I like to give 10 min mixing before the addition of others. Of course ph adjust after silica.

This goes for any style grow where you are mixing synthetic nutrients.

Yes I got strips. I seem to be around 6.5

The no name meter has been soaking for 24 hours. I can try to recalibrate it and go from there
Nah, learn the strips first. Go for 6. When you think you have 6 go a little bit lower until you see that slight orange shift on the paper. The goal is to learn to see the difference between 5.5 and 6 and land it there every time because if you start higher its almost always going to drift up out of usable range.

Some really great growers use only ph strips

Those yellow lids let in plenty of light too btw, throw a blanket or a towel over your rez for now to keep it dark. 👍

I've been doing it with mine for about 2 months because I refuse to buy new reservoirs yet haha

Another quick root check. They seem to of made zero progress. Maybe they are all dead and rotten.

I just had some seeds show up but maybe I should keep practicing on these plants a bit more first.

You had one new root there... not sure how it will do now.

What in the living fuck made you think you could yank those roots out like that for a pic and shove them back in like nothing happened????

Lol... patience is the hardest thing for a new grower to learn... like I said earlier more plant doe to love than neglect.... always good intentions but remember curiosity killed the cat.

It's not about memorizing the steps and procedures. True progress and growth comes when you understand the "why" of what you are doing.

Do people not read anymore?

It was just the one plant. And I didn’t yank it. I gently removed the pellets from on top and then placed it back in the same way it came out basically. It’s just the one I’m hard on. The other 3 havnt been yanked. Yet.
