@Lynch_Ironside are the signs on both plants or just the one plant? those roots look beautiful and happy
@Aquaman would it be possible that since there are two plants in one tote the plants are fighting for the proper nutrient?

Thanks man! Yup both plants had the same symptoms.

have you noticed new leaves getting the problem, or is just the leaves that had it?

Nice, love a good chart.
I did a change out the other day, Calmag was Added at 110-120 ppm
No flora gro added with this res change only bloom and micro. 5 grams of epsom for 10 gallons total. Roots look ok. Donā€™t smell funky or anything... kinda smells like a fish tank
thought it might be rust fungus but nothing wiped off the leaves when rubbed
After looking at the chart Iā€™d say itā€™s a calcium deficiency but I donā€™t think thatā€™s the issue. Iā€™ve been very consistent with the calmag throughout this entire grow. Iā€™m always between 110 and 120 ppm
What our seeing is from a week or likely longer ago. So maybe think back to what was going on then.

Still feel to much nitrogen for them in the past... maybe not at this moment though.

Iā€™ve only seen this in juvenile leaves. Lower leaves and new growth seem unaffected.

yeah I went too heavy on the nitrogen but since seeing the symptoms of nitrogen toxicity I started to skip the flora gro. The cal mag has nitrogen in it as well so I think that was the issue.
ill have to look back on my notes. Maybe I caused this some how. The only thing that comes to mind is leaving the plants for a few days around Christmas. Other than that I did a top up with a solution at 1200 or so ppm to get the total ppm back on track to 650ish. Itā€™s in a previous post in here with exact numbers. I guess that would put those two events inline with the timing.

That all sounds reasonable.... I wouldn't start cutting grow nutea... you start changing ratios and then you get issues... always mix in the ratios recommended and adjust the ppm based on response to nitrogen.

Or it goes kinda like this. Overfed then change nutrient ratios cutting nitrogen and not sure what else is in the grow bit I will assume likely calcium. This throws the whole nutrient ratio out of whack and starts lockouts and imparts uptake of other nutrients and things go in a big circle chasing ghosts.

I kept the calmag in the same dose but just took out the high nitrogen nutrient but I get what your saying, totally makes sense.
I try and adjust things slowly so they donā€™t get upset. Been basically following the gh feed chart as if I had 8 gallons instead of 10
I have everything logged I think I had a dip in ppm a couple of times but I corrected it as soon as I noticed. Thanks for your help so far.
and thanks to everyone else thatā€™s helpful you guys rock!

I think you are fine now. The affected leaves will never turn to their normal green leave. Let it run for a day and see if you notice anything new.
in hydro you'll know in few hours if something is wrong. lol

Yeah itā€™s crazy how quickly they respond to things. I saw a video @Aqua Man posted watering an underwatered plant and within two min it went from limp dick to full attention.
ill give it a bit and see what happens. What else can I do at this point! šŸ˜‚

Well I saw a handful of leaves with spots developing this morning. Water level didnā€™t drop by much ppm stayed at 640 ph at 5.5
The plant on the right is starting to fatten up. The one on the left hasnā€™t got the memo yet.

Update
Yesterday was a long day of trimming after 72 hours of darkness. The smell was intense from the larger plant, it also had a hollow main stem.

Thanks for the info and clarification. Any suggestions on a silica supplement? Like everything else there are so many choices.
Besides silica, calmag, southern ag and gh trio are there any other essentials I should pick up?

Apologies for all the questions, just want to make sure I've got all bases covered. I learned my lesson following a tutorial on coco later to find out it was missing a metric ton of information my plants and I could've greatly benefited from.

Any ideas on the brown slime? I've seen plenty of pictures of root rot but as I have no roots it begs the question can you get "root rot water"?
I don't think I have seen anyone mention your water temperature yet. It is to hot. If you can't afford a chiller. You will have to rotate frozen water bottles through your reservoir to keep cooler. Get it below 70. I have my chiller set to 67F. Cold water also hold more oxygen. Which you want. Your air pump is no more then sufficient in my opinion. I personally like to run a lot of air. You won't raise the oxygen level any higher then about 10ppm no matter how much air you put into the system.

I would also insulate your reservoir with a bubble insulation wrap to help your bottle keep the chill in. I insulate all of my totes and working reservoir as well as my 2" return hoses just to help reduce the cost of running the chiller.

Clean out your reservoir, put in fresh water and nutes. Gently wash the slime off of the roots of your plants. I am in Canada, so last I checked I can't get it. But I read that SM90 can help clean it up. Myself I make a tea that has saved me more then once.

I use Myco Grow soluble from Fungi perfecti. 2 Tablespoons
Mollases 1 tablespoon
5 cups earth worm castings in a bag for brewing
3/5 gallon filtered water no clorine

put an air stone in the bucket with the earth worm castings suspended above the stone. You can use it in 24 hrs, but I prefer 48hrs if I am not in a pinch. The growth of the benefials is exponential. So the 2nd 24 hrs it really increases.

Just finished reading all 18 pages, really enjoyed you, aqua, and the rest of the members going back and forth trying to figure out solutions to your problems.

Plan on running dwc here soon so I learned a few things also. You didnt mention how long the plants went?

Thanks for reading! This is, by far, my favorite hobby and the folks here are exceptional. I cut them at 12 weeks from seed. Going to start a new thread thatā€™ll hopefully be more of a grow journal than a panic stricken dash to get answers on issues. About ready to jar up my harvest and move my new girls into the tent. Maybe today or tomorrow. Iā€™ll get some pics up, I wanted to take some pics while trimming but my hands were too sticky and didnā€™t want my phone to stick to my face and hands afteršŸ˜‚

Lol yeah hydro makes for some pretty big straws... even coco high fertigation does.

Topped this plant at about 2-3 weeks old i think
Very cool, I noticed on the plant that was having all sorts of problems had a solid stem all the way up. Possibly restricting the flow of water and nutes, damn mutant šŸ¤£

I would say its the growth rates that dictate this... was that plant stunted?
No on the contrary itā€™s growth rate was substantially faster than its counterpart. It grew in more of a male pattern. It was also less potent, had long thin buds and a slightly different smell and flavor.

Hi elite šŸ˜Ž
What is the simplest way to harvest to get the smoothest smoke without harsh taste and grow in soil. What the best plan including 24h darkness and flow less finish b4 harvest?
