Topped a few today and found a few burnt lower leaves. Any ideas? Diagnosis is not my strong suit YET. Thinking I might've pushed them too hard attempting to correct the high ph.
If you go into the forum and under growing I want to say there is hydro at a sub section. Take a look around there. There was a thread from back around the time the thread I linked in that had some excellent information on Rockwool grows. One of the guys later went on to work with Jungle Boys. I want to say he grew on CoCo mats and just reused them from what I remember but do not quote me on that. on the right side there is a date for the last time someone posted. I know the thread I mentioned had some action earlier this year but I am not sure of the date.Great read @Anthem ! Thanks for this, dont know how I didn't come across this considering it's a sticky. Just gave me an idea to just put a tray underneath one of the cubes for a feeding to see my runoff percentage. Thanks again, r you still rocking the 1700e's?
Haha might take a while to find, was the word rockwool in the thread title? Or any key word you remember? Thanks regardless though, all I have is time so I'll get to searching lolIf you go into the forum and under growing I want to say there is hydro at a sub section. Take a look around there. I do have some of the 1700E, I think I am going to change out my 1650E and put them up to see if there is much of a difference. I am also running the Fluence Spyder 2I's all three are great fixtures.
Good Luck with your grow!
what issues did you have in the past?I have these under my cubes cuz I've had issues in the past when the cube just sits on the table directly. Waste of money and cleaning time? Or does anyone else use a similar product and find it useful?
Mostly poor drainagewhat issues did you have in the past?
I think you gotta b.it just tells me how thorough you are and want to succeed.id love to do something like this.Hydroponic Research Veg+Bloom. Using their base as well as their bennies and calmag. Had good results with it 3 years ago and wanted to keep it simple for now before I dive into tweaker territory. I think i'll be better off once they go on drippers, my dryback cycles might be messing with the swings. I dunno hopefully someone currently in rw can chime in.
Thanks @Madmax I def have some ocd tendencies haha, i've learned that sometimes it can be a double edged sword when growing. Sometimes you gotta let things be but I'll tinker for no reason..will try to be better with that haha.
Did you throw a level on your tables? I have not seen anyone using those to stand the cube off the table, but I am not a rockwool guy. Hydro with Greentree buckets. I do run a flood and drain table for my veg but I also throw some hydroton in as well. but I do remember making sure I had good drainage before I but plants in there. I would think standing the cube off the table like that is going to be counter productive for the roots. Did your cubes come with the dados in the bottom? Also there is some standing water in some of the pictures.Mostly poor drainage
For sure! Thanks for the kind words!I think you gotta b.it just tells me how thorough you are and want to succeed.id love to do something like this.
Cant wait to see the room jam packed with budz.
Not gon lie had to google dado's, but ya they do have them. They are grodan hugo's. The tables are leveled but the drain channels and especially the deeper pockets on each side of the table designed for F&D tend to hold water after watering no matter what. Is it good practice to shop vac that out? I been just letting it evaporate through the day. Yup running the 1700e's.Did you throw a level on your tables? You are running the Gavita's?
Nice, good to hear. Lot's of things seem to point towards raising the ec was the right adjustment. Ready for explosion! They certainly look like gorillas! I've done them a few times but in peat. They're eaters, I never managed to lock one out, even before I had much of an idea what exactly I was doing. My old watering style left too much salts in the peat too frequently for most strains. This strain, (#4 allegedly) survived me every time.
Man i had several strains in there and some ate heavy and some didnt, so its hard to say. My cookies could have handled 1.5-1.6ec throughout the grow no problem, but that would give other strains issues. With hydro if the plants look good and ec in the block is stable youre probably good. If its too high you'll see the EC in the block spike overnight and see signs of overfeeding within a day or two. I think youre likely in the sweet spot if the ec doesnt drift much. But be aware you might need to dial it back slightly when you flip to 12/12. The reduced length of light caused mine to spike the ec after a few days, I had to shave a few points off for a week or so but it eventually ramped back up.Thought I would try to grab you for a hot second @Dirtbag since you did that RW grow last year. What was your typical EC range during your grow in RW? If you look above, I made some assumptions and long story short i have my ec at 1.6, week 3 of veg. Sounds high to me, not running any co2. But thought I would ask you.
