Hi all!

Has anyone ran these lights and could offer a comparison? or anyone that knows their stuff about lighting units. I've read positive things about the ViparSpectra but the Lumatek is supposed to be built incredibly well and also a really effective light.

Space wise is about 0.72m^2, the 200W verison is good for about 0.64m^2. The ViparSpectra 450W is good for 0.37m^2. Obviously the 450W is more than twice the 200W but in terms of actual performance, which is gonna come off better?

Thanks in advance!

Both are not ideal. But if you had to choose one, dont buy the burple. The lumatek is the better of the 2.

Happy growing!

If that's 450w wall draw on the Viparspectra, be careful not to stress the plants with too much light in a tent that size. I've used the viparspectra v450 (actual draw 200w) in a .6 x .6m tent with good results. It was my first grow (on my 3rd now in bigger tent w vipar R900 + the 450) and I ought to have vegged longer but I couldn't have been happier with the potency & flavour. That's all it took & I'm never going back to buying weed if I can help it (I'm not in a legal jurisdiction so it's a crapshoot).
My second grow under the viparspectra had almost terminal nute & light stress issues (on me) but i still got some dense and high quality (sparkle, smell, flavour, strength!) flower out of it.
If you're shopping around for budget full spectrum LEDs, check out Mars Hydro too. I'd probably have gone with them if I'd known of them sooner.

thanks all for the responses! see i was asking as i actually already have both. Im 3 weeks into flower with the 450W and just manged to grab the 200W Lumatek from a friend. The 200W is being used in a veg and the 450W in the flowering space. I obviously dont want to harm my potential yield by swapping out at this stage. I think what i might do is keep the 450W for this run then try the 200W for flowering see what the difference in quality/production is.

I'm now on my second crop and im definitely thinking of moving away from blurple lighting. It was good enough to get me through so far but full spectrum is definitely the plan.

Again thanks for the replies and useful info!

yes the Lumatek ATS200W is full spectrum
Use that for flower and the blurple on blue for veg. During veg, imo spectrum is more important than intensity. In flower, you need as high intensity as possible to an extent obviously.

I would try it then. If nothing else, it's easier to see changes to your plants' leaves etc in that spectrum imo.
So since the 450W blurple pulls only 200W and the Lumatek is a true 200W and also full spectrum, would you recommend swapping out the lights almost 4 weeks into flower or just let this run go and use the Lumatek for the next run?
