Looking at something like this

2L Short Path Distillation Kit with P2 Distillation Head

2L Short Path Distillation Kit with P2 Distillation Head Head for creating distillate from processed organic material.

But I have questions if we have any experts here. Maybe a topic for another thread. But I am thinking that because of the much higher BP of THCV, I can get a THCV rich middle if I have complete control over heat and vacuum. I want to know the limitations of these systems, and if my chiller and vacuum pump from my 5L RotoVap will work.

Use the press I have in storage

Run that product thru the short path
Using the temp spread in BP (428 THCV, 311 THC, hell CBN the only other one I would possibly care about is 365) Single out the THCV in the output.

I like the press over Eth due to the lack of alcohol to boil off and end up in the cold trap, the quickness of the process, and the ease of dealing with the resulting product.

There is that one extraction chemist on another thread. He would probably have a lot of insight.

I suppose it is outside the realm for most home growers, but this is not that big of a deal in the real world. Commercial growers would snicker at my little setup.


Dream with me for a minute.

Run the short path normal on a high THC strain --> basis for vape cartridge A
Run short path on high CBN strain --> basis for vape B - nighty night.
Run the short path on Tvic and tune to get just THCV in the main --> Red's diet cart
Run the short path on a 50/50 THC:CBD strain - basis for morning / daytime cart

Now to all those bases add back in the terpenes individually that you think you want based on effect and test it out. In a few weeks you will have worked out a morning, noon, and night cart specifically for your needs. Customized medicine.

Got Parkinson's, Diabetes, wanna wake up and focus? Start with the THCV base and add others to taste.
Wanna go to sleep? You see where this is going.

I can see the finish line ahead boys...

Well I posted a link to a 1:1 THCv: CBG strain but it's waiting for moderator approval for some reason.

I'm guessing that Varins G is a cross between Doug's varin and some high CBG strain. Can't find much info on it. I did get me some beans so if I find a really speedy buzz one that gives me reverse munchies I'll be willing to trade some cuts if you guys find some THCv.
