That's because AN is straight phosphoric acid. Even better is just order 85% food grade for a fraction of the price of AN. They just dilute it (not as much as others) and then raise the price... Nute companies always looking for a way to gouge consumers.

That's a really good idea man! I'll do that next time. I got the biggest bottle of AN pH down I could find last time I bought some was over 2 years ago it lasts so long, so I reckon I'll do this next time I run out! Thanks for the idea!

Last question why can’t I mix up a citric acid solution from fruits. Like oranges lemons and limes? Just filter out any pulp n seeds?

I squeeze a tad bit of lemon in my water, but not after I feed. Seems to work fine. I grow outdoors in fabric pots.

No matter how hard your water is unless its pretty much concrete one watering does not affect medium ph.

Or most likely all of the watering only wont affect medium ph. Its just water.

Nutrient solutions have better immediate uptake when ph’d.

In potting soil vinegar is actually good for this as it temporarily acidifies a solution that is too high out of range then breaks up and doesnt continually acidify the pot.

i been using the earth juice for last few watering and they have fully revived. I will check into the actual bag of citric acid.

Earth juice is citric acid. But like most nutrient companies is marketed as some BS miracle in a bottle designed to separate you from your money. It's citric acid diluted down to 10% so buy a bag of citric acid as @Beachwalker suggested and dilute it to 11% with distilled water. Then slap a fancy label with a bunch of bullshit claims and resell it for $40 a bottle as a better earth juice product. Probably cost ya about a nickle per bottle to make.

It breaks down fast and is suitable for soil. I wouldn't touch the stuff in hydro

Personally I would mix 10:1 by weight.

10 grams of citric acid powder to 100 grams of distilled water. This will give you the same 10% solution of earth juice.

What about ascorbic acid, do you think there might be some benefit to diversifying the acids a bit, and that ascorbic acids could offer some benefit in this department?

I used a bit of vinegar actually to spray down my plant pots, before I start putting the microbe mixture, to start some good microbes in there before I transfer them later in the season, I want to ensure there pathogen free, especially powdery mildew.
