Is there a thread comparing full spectrum "blurple" lights to quantum boards?

I'm new to growing, only on my second round of plants. My first plant yielded 59 grams of trimmed, dried buds using a 1200 (equivalent) watt full spectrum "blurple" light. This round I've got 3 clones of the first plant and they are two weeks into the flowering stage, when a friend of mine told me that I'm using the wrong type of light. He doesn't grow but he's intelligent and he reads practically everything on the internet, so I consider him to be a fairly reliable source of information. Is he right? Have you guys already done a comparison? I already UTFSE'd but I got back squat. Thanks

Do you know the actual wattage of the unit? Brand? They are not the best, but they do work well if you have enough intensity. I use one and it keeps up well compared to my QB's.

I actually was informed on the same thing from a super good grower I actually met on THC farmer, reeferron. I was working with two small blurples in the beginning of my first grow about month ago and he told me I would in NO WAY yield the quality or quantity I was looking for without an improvement in light quality... He is a GREAT grower, so I took the advice.

I ended up going with two 240w qb Meijiu LEDs which both (after shipping from china) ended up costing about 330$ for the full 480w...with my other blurples added, im now at about 610w in a 4x4...Not a bad option IMO and they work great. I don't know of any threads on the subject, but many growers claim the difference is huge in yield...good luck!

I have two now, the 1200 and a 1500. The brand is Exlevnce and the actual wattages are 235 and 260. So you think they are about equal, is that correct? Thanks for taking the time to post. 😊
