planning to run multiple strains. What would 36hours of darkness do to a plant mid flower?

I used to always do 36hour darkness before cutting but used to only run 1 strain at a time.

Debating whether to cut lights before harvest then continue flowering/lights to finish remaining strains OR skip the blackout phase and just cut first thing in morning.

What do you guys think "missing" a day might do to plants mid flower?

It's going to reduce their yield.

if its just a little reduced yield that would be great! i am more worried about it stressing them out in a way that significantly reduces quality. Going to have a main crop that finishes in 8-9weeks and the "side crop" Is just a couple of little sativas i wanna test out and they need 2-3 weeks longer.

If you do that it could herm it. You should never mess with the light cycle in flower unless your ready to chop. I do two days of darkness then chop.

the darkness thing does nothing, bro science..
if done one notices changes it’s generally from other reasons..
24/48 darkness works with switching from veg to flower as it helps the plant pick up on the red light/rays much quicker and may even shorten the stretch.,

No shit? Lol
Well I do it anyways to expend the energy left in the plant. Lol

well it’s a debatable subject with lots of people.. from what i research i’m pretty sure it does nothing. again just bro science..
can’t hurt them doing it i suspect..
i’d rather have them have the light for two extra days..

I don't think they'll hermie, you'll just lose that growing time.

I once went off on a business trip and my light went out about a day after I left. They were in the dark for almost TWO WEEKS, and they were just a little pale and sad looking for a day or two.

You guys have given me alot to think about! since this is a test run to figure out what my main crop will be next time i think im gonna skip the darkness. Really dont want to risk a hermie and i can live with a potentially non-optimal crop for testing purposes.

Thanks for all the reply's!
