Been threatening to make a perpetual thread for long enough - figured now is as good a time as any to re-engage with The Farm. Been cooking some shit up since my last run - two girls a few weeks in flower looking super decent:
The Real Sour (foreground):

2 - Chemdog D Seedlings
1- Z3 Zkittles Cut (slowest vegging plant ever, this hash better be nuts)
6-8 - Multiple "The Real Sour" and "GMO" clones in various stages heading towards either flower or motherhood
2 - Motobreath15 cuts

So - if anyone reading this was here for all the drama of my first thread (2nd knee surgery on my right knee, followed by blowing my left foot apart and having surgery on that etc etc)

So after all that it turns out I'm gonna need a total knee replacement. I'm in my mid 30's and I still want to be competitive in powerlifting so I'm not super psyched about this. However a break from the monotony of pain and reduced mobility is gonna be very welcome.

I was lucky enough to get on a video call with a guy who set the all time world record raw squat at 525kg (1157 pounds) and he did this AFTER have a TKR. Turns out Vlad is a huge sweetheart and spent a lot of time talking to me and giving me advice. I'm still kinda floating from that. He also told me if he had my beard he'd have squatted 1200 pounds :)

1618418224398

So now I'm pretty much at peace with the surgery. At my age there's zero chance of getting a knee replacement without having to do it again later...so despite what I'm sure will be a LOT of criticism I'm going to continue to pursue my competitive strength goals and use the knee how I like. I've had a low 600's squat and I think I'm capable of squatting in the 8's before it's all over.

And I'm not fucking sorry cause you know what? When I think about what's the worst that could happen....catastrophic failure of the knee that can't be saved? Amputation? In all seriousness if I had to have my leg amputated...I'D STILL SQUAT AND DEADLIFT. There are guys with leg prothesis out there doing it too, it wouldn't stop me. So fuck it I guess.

Thanks for listening

I came In For the Doom like the title says and you talk of a knee replacement.

It isn’t as bad as it used to be if you get the new techniques. My mom was in and outpatient with a new knee. Only small scars and walked up the stairs to her bedroom when she got home at the end of the day. No months of immobility at all. This was at least 7 years ago.

Yea dude I've heard really good things from the people I've spoken to who have had TKR's. At this point aside from training and everything else I'm just super stoked to have the opportunity to live without all this pain for a while. Be able to walk more than half a mile with my kids when I take them to the strawberry picking fields

Ok since I guess I still like it here - I moved all the Holy Grail Kush and Chemdog D seedlings into the flower tent. Veg tent is looking super empty and the flower tent is about to have problems. I vegged the HGK's a little large and I think they're gonna reach for the stars. First a couple frost shots from the Sour and GMO:

Next, room at Macro:

My HGK's (recommendation courtesy of @sshz ) are looking nasty:

Been pretty bad about updating. The flower tent is boomin. This first wide angle shot doesn't do a good job of showing how nearly level the canopy is - even though the two HGK's in front are on the ground and everything else is up on buckets or the platform

A couple of the Holy Grail Kush phenos are showing promise, I think there are going to be some plants worth keeping here. I'm still on the fence about the Chemdog D's but for all the hype I've heard about the strain I still have yet to experience an example of it that blows me away. I've had some really good weed labeled Chem-whatever but not stuff I'm going to remember for years like true ECSD etc. Anyways let's take a look! Almost through stretch for the HGK's and Chemdog D's - the flower tent this morning:

1620408748839
1620409014197

The plant in the front-left of the tent is my current odds-on favorite (and has been the whole way) for a keeper. Here she is up close less than three weeks in:

1620409144830

Stem rubs come on nearly as strong as cured buds and when I cut a clone from her main stalk I could smell it instantly (this was 5 days after flip). All sour body odor and funk like I like 🍆 💦

I preserved everything in flower currently, took 24 cuts from 6 plants and every damn one rooted. Picked my top 6 to preserve the genetics for myself. I'm getting better at cloning:

1620409278404

Look at the roots this surviving-ass MF made:

Last but not least a little catch up on the veg tent sitch-ee-ayshun:

Quite healthy. More than I can grow. Deciding what round of clones to take next. Here's a few of the to-be mothers or next gen crop:

re-vegged TRS cut taken from a plant 1 week after flip. You can see the neat growth patterns as it gets back to normal:
1620409446941

Same thing here. This one is probably gonna be mama cause I like the branch structure:
1620409513582

Probs next sour to-flower:
1620409599274

This one is a special plant from a special friend....super special. No names no sharing:

Man who doesn’t love a good Sour D! I had a buddy back in the mid 00’s who grew a great sour S, one of my favorites to this day. I’m seeing similarities with yours, makes me drool just thinking about it. The rest looks great as well you’ve got a nice little nursery going on.

Thanks dude! I have a specific memory of an experience with the best Sour D I've ever smoked in my life while in college in Vermont in the early 00's and it's never been rivaled since. From what's coming off my girl here in mid-ish trending towards late flower is getting close. I'm excited but there are a couple more cuts I wanna look into if I can get my hands on them....

For sure dude I’ve been lurking decided to chime in ha. That’s how I feel would love to find that bud that I remember so well still. They just don’t make em like they used to right? Even something close would be nice, shops slap that name on buds that don’t even compare. Hope you find the one you want and find the others you’re after as well. I’ve got a few strains I’d love to have in rotation consistently hope to find the gems eventually myself.
