Simple. You need to have or get a family member or friend who owns the place.

The people who own these businesses have no shortage of people they personally know and trust to work for them. It's very much an old boy's club. Good luck my man 👍

You would be better off learning how to grow well and starting your own business. Think small craft though and make yourself unique in the market. You wont learn much following Big weed. Really depends on the state though. You can tell that some states will be heavily regulated and the state is the one making the dough. Screw that kind of legalization.

Big difference between regulation and legalization. We are not even close to legalization, Hell Canada isn’t even close to legalization.

Depends on the state I guess. Maine is going to closer to it than NY will, I can assure you but even here the state is trying to dismantle medical for tax purposes now. Should be able to have a farm stand and sell it imo. How much stimulus is going to big weed? Casinos and big weed.

First you need to pass a drug test and back ground check.
When operating the farm you must do it naked (this will not be a pretty site) unlike like the chicks mixing coke for the Mexican mafias.
there will be an anal exam when your shift is over (we need to make sure your not stealing any weed).
All jokes aside listen to @Homesteader, nailed it rite on the head there:)

I'm canadian. I consider it legal. It's also regulated like everything. Aircraft, automobiles, firearms and all sorts of things are also regulated. We don't then call them illegal.

We are allowed to purchase, it, we are allowed to possess it, we are allowed to grow it, we are allowed to share it, we are allowed to mail it to each other.

You can also sell it and grow it in greater amounts with a license.

It's legal. Just regulated like every other good thing in life 🤣

What’s the penalty for a private citizen being in possession of a pound of marijuana?

Aircrafts firearms and automobiles can all kill someone. We’re talking about a simple measly little plant. I’m sitting here Wondering what regulations are put on my tomato plants in my backyard in the summer? Can I only have 6? Am I not aloud to sell them at the farmers market?
A plant is a plant and no one will change my mind about that.

Weed can kill people too. It's not very common, but it happens. Just like automobiles and aircraft it's not the car or plane that kills you, it's the circumstances surrounding you. I.E bird flys in to the planes engine everyone dies. Vs guy drops joint in his crotch panics and swerves in to a tree killing himself. Or falls asleep with the stove on, burns the place down.

I agree with you, it's just a plant. But so is tobacco and we regulate the shit out of that too.

Most of these regulations are in place to keep the casualties and potential for abuse down to a minimum.

Even food is and advertising are regulated. Truly it's hard to find something actually unregulated.

But I get what you're saying. Some regulations might be too restrictive. As they are with other thing too. But they are in fact legal. That's all I was saying.

I'm with you, I'm only allowed 4 plants, and it sucks. Such an arbitrary way to regulate. Sq ft of growspace would be better. I can fill a 3x3 tent with 16 plants or 1 plant and get around the same yield. Meanwhile if I have 2 vegging clones and a mother plant 3 of my 4 are already used up...

I think everything too new right now to judge. I the next few years things will settle out and change. Then we can see what we are really working with. I'm waiting for groups to popup and start pushing for or rights when it comes to regulations, but as it stands it's pretty reasonable to me.

Experience and the ability to follow instructions. Knowing the state codes.

Edit add: you’re never going to be involved in a shittier business ever. Money people run it all and NONE can grow. First time it serves them your ass is gone. Seeds in a finished bud? Someone is getting fired. Just be aware that not even a “contract” can save you. Have a solid contingency plan.

There’s absolutely no banking. No commercial loans. And it’s expensive just getting started.

Alaska limited grow license. Limit 500 square feet of growing space. License $5K

Then add your video surveillance system on broadband running feed to the state 24/7 that covers every literal square inch of the operation, security including alarms and physical barriers, and tax.

$50 an ounce paid by the grower before it can be sold or processed.

Oh yeah no leases on buildings because banking laws and federal laws making it all totally illegal. So property, wages, utilities. All before the first preroll gets made and sold.

That’s what kind of money and we didn’t mention lighting and the massive electric work it requires. All the air handling equipment and infrastructure. It adds up really fast and tempers rise.

A friend here who owns an unlimited license and has a huge grow and 2 popular retail stores just suggested starting as a budtender. Get your handlers card and start applying as sales counter. You’ll learn the business from the end they’re working towards. Seems like good advice.
