Hi Everyone,

My wife is letting me get a bigger tent in the garage and I will likely be doing either a 4x4 or 5x5. Up until now my indoor grows have been done in a 2x4 and a 2x2. Got blurple LEDs in one and a little spider farmer LED in the other. I have been able to grow small quality plants in both of them with good success but I feel like its time to really step up my game. I want a rig that can put out the top shelf fire. Who has the absolute best LED light for a tent this size? Money is not of too much concern within reason. Im willing to drop over a grand on a light if its good enough. What do you guys think? I was leaning towards one of these two so far but Im sure someone on this forum has got other opinions. Maybe someone knows of a light that is less money but still really good.

1) Optic LED Slim 600H (has both red and blue)
Opticled

2) Horticulture Lighting Group HLG Scorpion Diablo

@Backyard_Boogie check out the Rayonled 720 UV. Amazing light, blows the crap out of HLG in my opinion. If you want cheaper, personally, i think the mars FC4800 looks nice for a 4x4. It also has UV. Just my humble opinion.
Happy growing

Between the two you suggested, I would go fopr HLG. More reputable brand and their stuff is good quality. I would also encourage you to check out either the iL8x or the 9x from Iluminar. I run the iL8x but because its the only one I could afford! lol. High specs and no as pricey as better known brands

As someone using the scorpion diablo, you should use it 4x4 or 5x5 its plenty of light to fill the room. Bad ass lamp with amazing spread. Those bar lights are legit, not sure about the brand you listed, however id search around for a day or two, there are a ton of those bar lights and you can get some pretty sweet deals out there. But the scorpion diablo is unique for sure and just an amazing lamp all around.

If you're willing to drop that type of cash stay FAR AWAY from HLG. You can get those same boards on Alibaba for about 1/2 the cost. They are no different from SF or any other QB brand running Samsungs and Meanwell drivers, they just stamped an american brand label on it and jacked up the price... Go with Gavita, ThinkGrow, Fluence or Luxx, my personal pick would be the ThinkGrow because you can remove each bar and replace it if needed, has a built in dimmer and timer, can be used with a brain thats built with it, waterproof... it has blues and reds for full spectrum, you can go JUST RED or JUST BLUE or both and can control the output of each, $1200 for a 630w light its the best on the market imo. If you want QB just buy a cheap on one alibaba from Kingbrite for like $400 a light shipped.

No they are not the same boards at all, there is a lot more to it. So what's different about the gavita that makes them worth it but hlg not?

So what makes them not the same board then? Gavitas are more spread maybe not the best example but thinkgrows are 100x better. They all use the same driver same diode and same boards... so id like to know whats so different? Im just saying qbs are all the same when you buy high end. Thinkgrows sre on a whole nother level

I will answer you but first I'm asking you since you made the statement stay FAR away from and said that the hlg are the same as the alibaba boards. I can assure you they aren't but with such a strong statement I would think you have a good understanding of the components and differences. So again I'm asking what the difference you are claiming is.

Using the same components doesn't always equate to the same product. That being said, sometimes the savings for the budget brands make sense depending upon the circumstances of the end user.

LED lights have been making huge improvements in the last decade. I'm sure I will I want to upgrade in a few years regardless of what I buy today.

Absolutely it's a cost vs gain. I'm not bashing any lights. There are reason for the cost.

Okay so I only added that video(it’s my friend from Scotland that not me lol) because of the remark on LED making improvements. See its weird because even the LED is changing it self and now as you can from the COB but newer which are very nice but lol, gotta find what works best for ya which I’m sure most other people have said but it’s truth.

I love my kingbrite 2x 240 watt QB from Alibaba.com and the price was legit! My plants are loving it too. The most expensive part is the shipping but even with that it’s like half the price of a spider farmer with 240 watts not the standard 200 for the same light spider farmer offers.
