So I just introduced a new light to these guys about a day and a half ago. Before they were doing pretty great. It’s a viparspectra p4000 1000 watt LED. Woke up yesterday to one drooping. Top inch of soil was pretty dry so I figured they needed some water. Watered with a ph of 6.3. Came back from work and still drooping. Figured they needed to adjust to the light? Woke up this morning and slowly drooping even more. Any ideas? Tested the soil at 6.5 ph. Using fox farms happy frog soil. Only use nutes every other watering. I did recently top them about 5 days ago. Would appreciate if I could get any advice. Thanks.

So did they have a light before? And what air flow and Temps do they experience? Day and night Temps.
 
They had a little 100 watt led before. Really cheap one. This one is significantly brighter. Temps are staying in the 75-80 in the day, and around 68-72 at night. I keep a fan over the top of them to give em a breeze.

Looks like a combination of overwatering and too dry humidity. What’s your humidity and how often are you watering?
It’s been a little dry humidity wise the last couple days, around 40%. I water about every 3-4 days depending of how dry the top inch of soil is

Is this actual power draw or what they advertise at as 100w - 1000w is a huge jump in power

You need humidity in there if possible especially in veg much better performance running a humidity around 70% and temps around 80
 
good chance your watering too frequently, an inch down dry is not the way to learn when to water, get used to lifting the pot it should be like a piece of styrofoam, really! and if you notice the plant at that time you’ll see she looks fine. let it dry out more
 
The new viparspectra light is 400w actual draw. The old on was a cheap 30 dollar vogek light off Amazon. I’ll post a pic of each. I just don’t know if maybe they’re not used to so much light. I figured if I kept the temps the same that they’d be fine

Well if they haven't perked up after 24 hours then there is a problem. But light intensity change is my culprit. For now. If it persists. Too much water in a poor media.
well id give it 2/3 days to dry out some and see if she looks better, he’s probably compounded the watering two or three times in a row.
didn’t see his light distance should have them way higher than needed for a couple days before starting to lower them..
obviously if the plant is looking worse as it’s drying out, we’ll put our minds together and get things on track..

I do have the light at 24 inches away at about 70 percent of the lights power. If that give you enough insight on that.

Do you have a light meter to measure the Lux and PAR at the top of the plants? I bet it is high. You can download to a IPhone or Android device. Right now you are guessing where that light should be and those plants don’t like it.

I wouldn’t be above 20000 Lux or 400 PAR with them at this point.

No I do not. Maybe start at 20%? I know my local hydro store doesn’t carry them. What is the ideal range for those?

You can download a light meter app from the App Store. I edited my post above. For those size plants and intro a new light I’d keep the insensitivity at 15000 - 20000 Lux, and closer to the 15000. For the PAR I wouldn’t be above 400. Those plants are trying to get away from all that light you got blasting them right now. A light meter will tell you.

Thanks I appreciate it. Just downloaded an app to get me by until the one from Amazon comes in. I’ll keep you guys updated if that works.

Do some google searches on light intensity for growing. You’ll get the ranges required from seedlings through flowering. You can search here to for where folks like their intensity set while growing.

It’s not just based on distance from canopy.
 
Roots ÷ canopy mass x light intensity = respiration. If they are lacking somewhere they can't handle a bright light. So if those roots are small they cannot provide enough water for respiration. Meaning the light intensity will be too great and the stomata will close. I'm not saying the roots aren't good. Just saying it can be a cause.
