After starting my last grow with almost no knowledge and set up was ragtag at best. I have decided to invest in a better set up and start again. The seeds of my previous attempt were unknown “bag seeds” and I destroyed the poor babies due to lack of knowledge.

I bought a 2x2x4 grow tent as well as a single 1000w grow light. Will be starting a single plant and documenting the process as I go!

I will be growing Seedsman Auto Lemon which was a freebie with my order in a Fox Farm Ocean soil! Will update every week! Please give me suggestions as I go!
Soaking the seed tonight and will put it into a pete pellet tomorrow as well as show a picture of my set up!

I am in process of buying a cabin in a rural area and want to get down growing before I make the move so I don’t have to go without herb.

Hey

We're in a very similar position, 5 days into second attempt at first grow in a 2x2x4 with a Runtz auto.

I'm following along, good luck!

Just looked at your first attempt, guessing you overwatered in that pot. If you had success with the peat pots that’s fine but i suggest you start in a clear solo cup or cutoff two liter bottle to keep an eye on the roots and moisture in the soil. Real important the soil dries out before watering, and keep it in another container to prevent the roots getting any light. I have used jiffy pots but prefer soil in a warm, tightly covered container til the first two leaves appear, like a solo cup in a baggie. Half cup of soil is perfect in case the seedling stretches you can top off with more soil for support. Good luck.

So this is what my previous plants look like currently I just repotted them in an attempt to recover them. The middle one looks a lot better than the others.

I have my grow tent on its way today or tomorrow so they are gonna need to survive just in the closet until then. I agree I think the pot they were in didn’t allow any drainage and was so shallow it didn’t give babies room to stretch their roots. I don’t have a lot of hope for them.

Do you think they can be saved?

Auto Lemon are in paper towel after soaking them overnight once it pops I will put it into a solo cup “or similar” and update progress!

Update:

Got the tent set up (arrived way late) and this is day 1 of them in the tent!

Auto Lemon Is freshly out of the soil looks great so far.

Unknown Bag Seeds plants are looking ok have been trying to keep soil properly watered and one of them seems to have bounced back. The other isn’t doing much so I might scrap it.

Picture was before watering! Will update with more pictures this evening of my very basic set up!

Update:

Auto Lemon 🍋 : This baby doubled in size overnight after adjusting humidity to 60% it’s looking great! Haven’t been using nutes on this baby due to it being an auto may start if I see any signs of need but soil was pretty hot to start with!

Mystery bag seeds :

One has really recovered and responded very well to increase in humidity! I have been following fox farm chart at 1/2 strength. I killed of other one as it wasn’t growing whatsoever.

🌱 RIP 🌱

Pictures are from an hour after “lights on “

Let me know what you think or if I could be clearer on anything!

If that is a concrete floor, keep the soil and plants warm by raising them up. Pots have drainage holes?

Nope it’s the floor of the grow tent. I agree I should raise them though. I keep them in a room between 65-70 degrees and will increase as summer approaches as its on my 2nd floor . Yes the pots have drainage holes and a clear tray to collect run off!

Im old and I still cant figure out why anyone grows autos indoors. Someone please educate me.

Update:

Mystery bag weed: I topped it and it is very stressed and has some mild bite burn. I will be watering with just PH water this week fingers crossed it (hoping it’s female) recovers.

Lemon Auto: New baby looks good and is growing like a champ. The older Lemon auto is really thriving :)

Let me know what you think!

LOL, I do agree the sun beats all. But you can run them harder with longer light cycles. 20-22 hrs lights on can make some big ladies.

Update:

Auto Lemon: Older of the two is growing very well I will post closer up pictures next post but she is doing well and I am think might start flowering soon! The babe is doing well also although may be a different pheno because she is starting a little slower than the older one!

Mystery Bag Weed:
I don’t think topping it (still don’t know sex) was smart she is looking a bit sad but looks like it is recovering slowly but surely!

I go on vacation for a few days so I will post update when I get back! Honestly I think they will benefit from my hands off approach while I’m gone as I tend to get overzealous and water too soon 😂

New set up!

Lemon Skunk: The oldest has some baby buds and is slightly nuts burned, Lotions the plant is a little small but I’ll take it as my first plant and it will grow some more! The baby lemon skunk accidentally got big plant nutes and is looking sad!

The mystery bag plant is slowly but surely growing and is looking healthy!

That 1000w light isn’t enough, try moving it down to 15”, and they still show overwatering which really means bad watering. In those buckets of ffof maybe water once/week to runoff then they gotta dry. A fan and some additional large grade perlite will help that, especially in buckets.

Thank you! I have been watering every three or so days so definitely over watered compared to once a week so I’ll keep that in mind! Do you have a light recommendation that is affordable? I appreciate the feedback because I really am learning as I go!

Watering is the first step, thorough watering then wait til the container is wicked light. Lights especially led’s are getting dirt cheap. Not a big fan of some of the riu members but there is a thread there called “the best deals thread” with amazing amazon prices.

So it's been literally almost a year what happened did you kill it? My advice use pasteurized soil no bugs and don't over water very important let the plant tell you when it needs water and last but not least barely use nutes only when needed.ps use organic nutes and soil and distilled use distilled water for veg state and flowering. That's my advice and if you can afford it use 18 hour light cycle or 20.
