Gram per kilowatt hr.

Basically it does not take the total electricity used in the grow. So ppl are like I get 3 grams per watt... but they veg for 3 months.

Where as someone else may veg for 1 month and get 1 gram per watt.

Could be the same light. So GPW is just terrible imo

You speak like a scientist which is exactly what I need. Appreciate all your help mate. To further dive down that rabbit hole, I'm noticing a lot of the info I've seen for true Coco grows, and been given with my nutes, suggests flipping a lot earlier than a lot of guys I've seen online. Most of them are doing organic soil grows. Is it just the case that everything is going to happen significantly faster than in soil? Or are the two comparable?

Absolutely man.... eg hydro even faster. 2 weeks vegetative growth.

Needless to say this grow went in the trash as I didn't wanna put the work in to get it reasonable to flipnto flower

Is there an issue with it? Or just couldn't bf with the lollipopping and thinning to get it ready?

I'm told that I should LST as a beginner and look for 80% canopy cover before flipping to allow for stretch. Thoughts? Beware in mind I will probably message you photos every second day to check anyway 😂

More importantly is the intensity and coverage. About 600 ppfd max in veg for 18/6 and aboit 900ppfd in flower 12/12. You need to take into account the number of hours the lights are on when considering intensify.

Notice 900ppfd in flower (without co2) then 600 in veg. Then look at the hours... in flower you are running 1/3 less hours so you increase the light intensity by 1/3 to keep the DLI similar.

So if you have an android download light meter by my mobile tools dev and for veg 15k-45k lux and flower 45-65k lux. Always start at the low end and work up. Adjust height and intensity to get the most even coverage at the ideal intensity.

With 30w per sq ft you should have no trouble hitting those numbers.

How do you work the lux meter ? The app on the phone . I point it at the plants get a reading and then twist up to the light and it goes off it’s head ? Where do you read it aimed at ?

No when I left the province for a family emergency. Gave the daughter a 10 min crash course on mixing the nutrients. She never grown a dam thing and I believe even killed a cactus once. A few short phone calls with questions but....

Yeah those still needed to flip to flower and stretch... my back was extremely bad then and I couldn't do the work.... well wouldn't do it in that box I built. So hard to get to the plants. That's why I upgraded to a room. That was just a proof of concept thing to me so I didn't spend tons and not have it work.

Lol came home to that.

So yes and no.... the important part is getting and even canopy.... so Scrogging or topping and LST are common. It really depends on the number of plants and space.

Sorry I forget those here.

Does that app you've referenced instruct to use a diffuser over the camera? Just wondering if the OP is doing this. Will go weird and very low if not.

Have pics so I can gaige plant health and size 35,000 is a pretty good amount for 18/6 even for established plants in early mid veg. About the highest you want to go is 45,000 but that's really pushing it.
