I need advice on growing mother plants

I have some strains that I want to keep for next springs outdoor grow. I have taken clones, but obviously it's too late in the season to keep outdoors for Toronto's weather (they will start to flower too soon). I want to grow them indoors and put them outside as mature plants in the spring. Problem is space I don't want monster plants in my house. So I will keep trimming. Does anyone have a schedule or recommendations on keeping the plant small. I was told B vitamins after every trim. Any other advice? Also I don't have/want a fancy set up. Basically it will be lights and a fan for some air movement. No tent not exhaust fans etc.
Currently they are in promix potting soil and 6 inch nursery pots. I was also told fabric pots are good for mothers. Any and all advice on nutrients or anything else to keep these plants (and me) happy indoors until Mayish.

Put them under CFLs as close as possible without heat burn. You might have to raise your lights every two weeks or so. The low amount of light from CFLs will keep them alive just fine and the closeness will keep them shorter and prevent stretching. You can also prune and top, even taking a couple clones and throwing them in the trash to keep height and width under control throughout winter.

You can either buy a single large CFL, like a 100w, not 100w equivalent but an actual 100w CFL, or you can buy a couple smaller ones and a splitter to run them together. It might depend on what’s locally available, a lot of places won’t sell 100w CFLs and be aware that some larger wattage CFLs will require an adapter to fit into a standard socket since they use a larger socket. You also want ones with a color temperature on the bluer side, so 6500K+.

You’re basically trying to bonsai the plant for a couple of months until you’re ready to start taking clones for outdoors again, so don’t be afraid to prune and then a month or so before you’re ready, depending on how many clones you’ll need, stop all pruning and let the plant grow uninterrupted.

Keep the lights close as possible.
lower temps to about 70.
low nitrogen. Just enough to keep them green. Nitrogen will make them grow faster.
up phosphorus. Keeps the roots healthy, keeps the nodes close together, helps strengthen plant cells and increases tolerance to stresses.
don’t be afraid to prune and trim as needed. You can even do some practice cloning indoors over the winter and either give them away or throw them out. Every cut you make should double branch.
my moms are max 36”tall and have done about 100 clones.
