I was installing support for my plants and noticed a large green grasshopper. Are they beneficial or is this a problem? I think they eat bugs, don't they?

Sounds like a locust. Swarms can cause significant crop damage. A few here and there are not likely to cause any harm. I would use DE over flour.Whoops, no they eat the plants. I read I can use regular baking flour and sprinkle on the leaves and it will make their mouths sticky and then they will starve.
