Is this plant male or female?

I have a couple of plants growing like this, it's leafy where the buds grow. There not thistle like buds so thinking it's male?

But shouldn't it look like bud's and not leafs like my other plants. Or is this plant just budding late and the leafs are early stage of budding

IMHO, your first 3 pics are inconclusive. Give them a week and perhaps things will become more clear. The last photo above looks like a female to me.

Yea the pic in the reply is my other plant. I was showing that it should look like that. The pictures on top is the plant Im thinkimg it's a male because it's all leafs growing where the buds grow. I don't know if that's normal because it's my first year growing.
