Good day fellow Farmers....

We thought we'd start introducing you guys to some of our strain catalogue. We generally work on one or two signature strains at a time, while also growing a selection of potential ‘cross’ cultivars. When we all agree a signature strain is good to go, we then select a number of different partners that will also be pollenated with the same signature male.

While this may sound like standard modern breeding practice (and it most defiantly is), we differ slightly in two ways. Firstly, we never EVER use 'elite' cuts or 'breeder' clones, we select everything from seed. Why? When we select a potential mate, we wanna see more of what that particular line has to offer. When using modern hybrids this is a must, as mutant inbred traits are very common. We generally only use lines that can produce multiple offspring with little to no growing issues.

So with that said, that's why we don't use many modern hybrids in our crosses. When we do it's because we've grown out at least 3-4 packs, and are happy with the results. For us, the hunt is everything. So the majority of our crosses are made using classic hybrids, exceptional heirloom IBL’s and ‘clone only’ cultivars in S1 form. While these still go through the same selection process as the modern varieties, we find they complement our signature strains better, as the genetic make up is less muddled.

We breed for plant quality and effect. Everything else is secondary. So when we select potential ‘cross’ material, we try our best use strains that compliment our signature line. For instance, our Sawā IBL has amazing antidepressant qualities, coupled with a warm body buzz. Perfect for relaxation and de-stressing.

So with this in mind, half the strains we used in Sawā crosses were way more energising, sativa dom or pure sativa. 3 different ‘hazes’, a heirloom 15 week Durban, a vintage Skunk and a solid 50/50 landrace hybrid. And then at the other end of the spectrum we add the strong indica’s for the heavier stone. This is where most modern hybrids excel. As a collection we we felt these were the bases we needed to cover.

Now of course, not everything works, but whatever does show promise is worked on further, F2 / F3 etc, with a few ending up as future signature lines. It’s a lot of work, but we defiantly think it’s worth it.

So, that’s a little about who we are ….

We aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel, we’re just taking Hyp3rids in a direction most seed companies aren’t going currently. We of course recognise that the plant’s full cannabinoid / terpene profile all contribute to its medicinal value. But if you are selecting plants purely based on it’s ‘dog shit’ aroma, or that it tastes just like candy, you’re missing the point of this medicine entirely.

I have no doubt this will raise a few eyebrows, and forge a few contradicting opinions, but that’s what forums are all about right?

I hope that all made sense, and thanks for reading thus far.

Next up will some strain info, bud porn, end maybe a few dick jokes for good measure (cough).

Regards, Hyp3rids

So here is our first signature strain - Sawā IBL

Lemon Thai X [Lime1 BX x SBSE]

So let’s start with the Lemon Thai, a strain that needs no introduction. Our male came from an amazing ‘in-cross’ (IX) seed batch made using the original ‘Dutch Flowers‘ line, by our good friend and fellow breeder Santero. Lemon Thai is an amazingly balanced hybrid said to come from Hawaii. It’s been used in a number of legendary strains, but mostly famous for it connection with the original OG Kush.

Its popularity comes from the incredible upbeat high it produces. Great for anxiety and depression, it can leave the user in a wonderful euphoric with absolutely no paranoia. The buzz is also very clear headed and energetic, so defiantly no couch lock or mental cloudiness. It’s a perfect strain for social occasions that will leave you in fits of laughter. Our Lemon Thai male had great vigour, structure and an extremely fast flowering time.

Our mother plant was a ‘pollen-chuck’ we did a while ago using Freeborn Selections ‘Lime1 Bx’ and an S1 selection of SBSE by Green Bodhi.

So lets start with Lime1 = [Hollywood x Topanga Pure Kush] X Black Lime

Two legendary American Kush favourites crossed with Meangene’s amazing Black Lime. Lime1 is a heavy Indica strain with its genealogy predominantly coming from Afghan genetics. The name comes from the smell it produces, a sharp citrus / borderline acidic aroma, which has been passed over to most of the Sawā phenotypes we’ve grown out.

As for the SBSE (Sour Best Shit Ever), it again is an indica dominant hybrid breed by combining the amazing ’78 Affie’ (see our King Willie line) crossed with ‘Sage’, a classic line by TH Seeds.

’78 OG LA Affie X Sage [Big Sur Holy Weed x Afghani] = SBSE

Not as heavy as the Lime1, the SBSE offers a deeply relaxing, yet upbeat high; the later probably effected by the Mexican genetics of the Big Sur Holy Weed.

Next up is a strain we're gonna release in a few months. Meet King Willie

When you talk about ‘Lambsbread’ in weed circles, most folks admit they have never actually experienced this ‘holy grail’ of sativas. So why is the pinnacle strain of cannabis culture so hard to come by, even in Jamaica? Well, I guess it simply went out of fashion. Modern growers hate long flowering times, whispy buds and plants that stretch at least 3-4 times their ‘veg’ height. This plant is exactly that, everything modern weed isn’t.

We were very lucky obtaining a Lambsbread line, that as far as we could see, had no Indica influence whatsoever. And yes, most people who know will tell you that is reasonably difficult these days. Most commercial landrace sativas always have a small amount of indica bred into them to shorten flowering time and bulk up yields.

The Lambsbread line used in this cross came from a group of passionate preservationists that have kept this line safe (and pure) for decades. Search ‘vibes collective’ for more info, there is plenty of it. They are 100% responsible for ensuring this line didn’t disappear altogether, and are the soul reason it still excises today. We can’t emphasise enough the importance of this kind of dedication and preservation, so thank you VC. We are forever thankful for your efforts.

Regarding the line itself, it has everything you’d expect from a pure tropical sativa. Indoors she went 17 weeks, doesn’t pack on the yields that much, and she grows / stretches loads. But with a little time and patience she will reward you with some of the most wonderful medicine you’ll ever experience. Cure is everything with this strain. The longer you leave her the better she gets. We jarred her up in several containers and didn’t touch one for nearly 6 months. And WOW, it was worth it. They should call this strain ‘Joy’ because that’s all you feel when you try her.

So with all that said, let’s talk about our male. ’78 OG LA Affie is another legendary strain originally created by breeder Johnny Que. Relatively unknown until ‘Aficionado’ released it in a limited fashion. JQ then put her out under under his own ‘Stanky Dank Genetics’ (our source). This is her genetic make up.

Heirloom Lemon Thai x ’78 Colombian Gold x ’78 Pakistani Landrace = ’78 OG LA Affie

Many see this strain as a heirloom OG, one that pre-dates all the other strains within this now, large gene pool. Think heavy fuel aroma, indica leaning growth structure and a deeply relaxing high. The perfect evening smoke. She paved the way to OG Kush / Hollywood Pure Kush which both appeared after her arrival. ’78 Affie is simply an amazing line, hence the reason we partnered it with the pure Lambsbread.

Our favourite #5 girl (see pictures below) inherited all the traits we like in both the lambsbread and OG, super upbeat / positive vides with wonderful full body relaxation. This final cross will hopefully ensure these phenotypes are most prevalent when she finally goes out. The BX was done for two reasons. The first was due to the quality of the male it produced. The second was to ensure a few of those longer flowering phenotypes were again minimised in the offspring.

From a ‘terps’ standpoint she defiantly leans more to the OG side, gas / funk on the nose, with a bit of earthy fruitiness. Taste again is way more OG leaning too, very earthy / pine.

King Willie’s structure moves more toward her sativa side with a strong central column and Christmas tree style branching. Topping her creates a very large bush loaded with clusters of rock hard buds. Defoliate her some more and she becomes a dream to trim once flowering is finished.

That Cayo Hueso you have on the site really looks interesting for sure.

Only one way to find out bro... 😉

The Cuban Black Haze S4 we used in the cross was AMAZING. The plant was just stunning, and a monster yielder to boot. Our source, a real OG from British Columbia, has been 'selfing' the original clone for 4 generations. Every plant was very uniform though, with flowering times ranging from 11-12 weeks all the way to one phenotype that could have gone 20 weeks. I have a picture of her somewhere I need to dig out.

This was the 20 week (I reckon) pheno at about 8-9 weeks in. She didn't stop stretching until week 7 and the large buds / colas have yet to start forming. She was surrounded by other plants which have since finished, she ain't even got started. We made a few seeds with the Sawa pollen. Maybe we will grow them out at some point.

Been thinking about sativa dominant strains as I can dedicate a 4x4 for 1. Maybe I don't know as much as I think I do,yeah, probably not, but doesn't that look like a landrace sativa to you? Beautiful beastly lady.

Lots of people have speculated what's in the CBH, pure haze / A5Haze... either way long flowering pheno's are very common. But yes, not all phenos go that long which suggests there might be something else in the mix. Pure Haze or Original Haze is made up of 3 different Colombian varieties. Punto Roji is famous for its super long flowering times. So to try and answer your question, yes it does look like a landrace sativa, but I'd say more pure Haze. Hope that made sense?

Here is some info we posted on our site regarding the CBH

DJ – “I live in South Florida, I am of Cuban descent, and Black Haze, AKA El Negro, AKA Superman, is a local strain brought here with Cubans back in the 70s and 80s (Scarface Era)…”

“The strain is super long to flower taking 120 days but it can be pulled in 90 if need be. It got its name from the super dark green colour it tends to get after curing…and because it leaves you in a blackout usually. The high is not like most sativa’s, in my opinion. The super long flowering times allow for the THC to over-mature from a milky white to an almost dark amber colour that turns parts of the bud to a yellowish colour. The darker the THC the more couch-lock you experience”.

“The buds from the colas are F**KING HUGE! I have personally handled buds over a foot long, rare but it is done! most buds are pencil shaped and thin but fairly compact”.

It was commonly referred to as CRYPTO or ‘Crippie’ by white people in Broward, (YES! Broward County came up with the term ‘Crippie’, been calling weed that since I was 13) because one of the nicknames was Superman. We now generally call all weed sinsemilla ‘Crippie’ or crypto because prior to weed becoming what it is today, this is pretty much what all Floridians recognise as high quality pot”. DJ

Read though, great ethos here. I'm hellbent on overall traits myself, and interested in medically relevant cultivars.

I've got a pure landrace Thai sitting over here at the house also. (tyvm Sambaptai) Had some problems earlier and cut her back for convenience, and will eventually bring her back into the mix at some point. I've got a new 4x4 coming this week, so maybe I'll give her another try. That's a real beauty.

Here's some pic's of the clones I cut from her, I think there still over at the hot house, but I've not checked on them for awhile, as another buddy of mine is currently caring for them. The hot house has higher overhead, so hopefully it will suffice. Hopefully, I didn't screw too much up when I moved them during early flower.

Hello fellow THC Farmers,

So we thought we'd introduce another strain we've been enjoying so much, we decided more people needed to try it.

So presenting Lieu Hanh IBL and crosses... Lieu Hanh - Vietnam Black X Nevil’s Haze

Lieu Hanh is our first classic Heirloom IBL release, and will also be accompanied by its own collection of LH male hybrids. So here’s some detailed Lieu Hanh information from its original creator, FET of the Spice Brothers.

“Hundreds of Neville’s haze f2s were grown out in an effort to show recessive parental traits. After careful selection and tasting we decided on very sativa dominate side of Neville’s haze that had a flowering time just short of 15 weeks and had the trippiest profound smoke quality with no paranoia or couch lock. Easy let down and no hang over”.

“An extremely early flowering Vietnamese male carrying an almost pure single cola shape growth was put over our specially selected Nevil’s Haze girl. The Viet male was so early that our girl was not prepared/advanced enough in flowering to take a dusting so pollen was collected and stored until she was ready”.

“The results have produced a sweet a piny/pepper-fruity aroma and when cured correctly brings out a lovely cameral hash-like taste when smoked. Not all offspring will bring this intense thick taste but they all carry slight undertones and very enjoyable”.

So with all that in mind, our LH collection focuses on strains with very psychoactive traits. We want people to experience some really profound cognitive weed, very different from today’s popular strains.

The ‘Third Eye Collection’ is made up of these amazing genetics.

# Wolfman - Lieu Hanh male X ’95 Silver Haze
# Ace Of Haze - Lieu Hanh male X ’82 Durban
# Deep River Haze - Lieu Hanh male X Nam Black #164 S1
# Ho-Chi Oh-Gee - Lieu Hanh male X King Willie F3

And every pack comes with a pack of Lieu Hanh IBL free of charge...

Stay up to date right here... ✌️🌿 And don’t forget to check out our site www.hyp3rids.com

What's up gang, some great news coming....

First, the Lieu Hanh IBL and cross collection is now up for grabs on our website.

* Lieu Hanh IBL - Vietnam Black X Nevils Haze
* Wolfman - ’95 Silver Haze X Lieu Hanh ‘Big Ho-Chi’ Male
* Ace Of Haze - ’82 Durban X Lieu Hanh ‘Big Ho-Chi’ Male
* Deep River Haze - Nam Black #164 S1 X Lieu Hanh ‘Big Ho-Chi’ Male
* Ho-Chi Oh-Gee - King Willie F3 X Lieu Hanh ‘Big Ho-Chi’ Male

Lieu Hanh was bred for one reason, it's strong cerebral high. Both the Vietnam Black and Nevil's Haze where both selected for this, and this only. 99% of modern strains lack this unique trait due to the amount of indica breed into them. So the idea for the LH collection was to use our male selection and cross it with a number of other psychoactive strains.

With this in mind we called it 'The Third Eye' Collection.

EVERY strain comes with a FREEBIE Lieu Hanh IBL pack. That’s close to 30 seeds with every order.

We are also doing a big giveaway with another amazing strain 🥩🥩 'Sunday Best' 🥩🥩 which is going out as a FREEBIE with every Sawa Collection order from our website.

Gelato 33 needs know introduction, as it’s one of the most popular strains in the world. Our selection comes from the original SeedJunkie S1 release from way back. She was actually the ‘runt’ (cough) of the litter due to her looks and aroma. She smells exactly like roast meat, with a hint of sweet gravy, that’s been left in the refrigerator until the day after Thanks Giving. She’s an amazing yielder, stacks up quick with rock hard, dark green, mutant-like buds. This girl is a champ… ❤️ 🌱🥩

But sadly we’ve had to wave goodbye to this lovely creature, so we thought we send her off with a long weekend with our Sawa stud. And boy did they go town. Check out the pictures of Sunday Best… She’s just GORGEOUS ❤️❤️❤️
