First legit indoor run- 20 years depping and outdoor gardens but with current situations I running an inside run and looking for any constructive criticism on my set up and procedures.

(20) Tahoe OG, (20) Black Water Kush
400 sqft sealed room
3000 watt of led W/ master controller - sunrise sunset/ dimmer
2 ton mini split
Auto pilot environmental controller (HUM, TEMP, CO2)
Auto pilot co2 burner
(4) ocillating fans
1 Toshiba 70 pint dehuy (temporary)
(2) 12'X6' drain tables on casters (Temporary)
5 gallon smart pots
coco loco 70/30
Auto drip irrigation rings
Pule Pro monitor
Emerald harvest 3-part
40 Gal res.
82 degree leaf temp/ 67 Hum. VPD 1- 1.2
I am watering twice a day currently at 750ppm and 5.9 ph.

I am at week 3 of veg and have just topped everyone. Looking ok.... I guess. Not up to my standards at all but this is my first run with the coco inside as I am coming from a long background in no-till organic soil farming practices.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Looks great man.

I think your seeing slower than expected results for a couple reasons.

1. Coco loco is more of a soil contrary to the name.

It's claimed to hold more water than it's own weight where as coco coir holds about 60%. Coco has a much higher air to water ratio and far more drainage so it can be watered extremely frequently and is hard to over water unlike coco loco.

Personal opinion only is that it will make a great soil but would never come close to comparing to a coco husk media in terms of growth rates under equal conditions. I also have a sneaking suspicion that it may contain coco coir pith in part or whole as the form of coco used.

2. The pot size will further reduce the speed of growth and time to dry back which is directly related to o2 exchange and air holding capacity.

You would likely see a better result using this in taller skinnier pots that would improve the air water ratio.

Same goes for smaller pots and transplanting up would likely see faster growth.

3. The organic amendments in it also increase the water over air volume.

I'd say what your seeing is about par for the course in the media being used for the pot and plants size.

I think you will see better results using a good wet dry cycle and starting in smaller pots, transplanting as you go.

Great - that's exactly what I was looking for.

- I was unaware of the properties of coco loco and assumed it was coco/perlite
- I cloned all these plants from my greenhouse (pre flip) into root riot plugs, then into 3'' X 3'' pots, then into 5 gal
- I was always taught that a wider pot is better than a taller pot ( outdoor living soil mind )
- I did let a dry cycle happen then notice some yellowing so I upped the feed schedule/ + add cal mag
- I do notice wilting of leaves towards end of day cycle ( Maby just ready for night time ) "DLI is on point"
- Currently pots are still heavy so I haven't watered and will let dry a tad

Thank you very much for your time and help

Picks up sledge hammer starts knocking down walls 😃 you wouldnt get me out of there ..love the simplicity of it and like the corrugated drain away setup..something i need to do down the track....when you have a big setup how you go with the humidiy spose you use a commercial dehuey..im looking at getting a bigger one but gee some of these units draw the power..

Haha- Yea the goal was to be somewhat a clean and easy setup to run with limited time management due to outdoor and light dep harvest year round. My humidifier needs to be updated 100 percent. I have a quest on order yesterday and will help tremendously. Its more to have everything automated. My corrugated tables are ok, still need adjustments but think I will raise about 20" and frame 2x4 tables instead of pvc. I do like the casters and ability to move tables

Thank you

Yeah drooping in the last hr or 2 is completely normal and shows they are well acclimated to the light schedule.

This kind of explains why I say taller and skinnier to start. I agree wider after they are established and have higher watering demands.

Nice grow! Aqua Man covered everything I was gonna say, and some. Spot on advice.
Thanks again. I did make a mistake as I am not running coco loco like I stated in the first post. My plants are in the 70/30 cultivation nation coco mix from fox farm and I added 10% worm castings. So far so good on the grow here. I have figured out my lighting percentages, water intervals and the adverse effects they have when not properly maintained. I noticed a massive issue a few weeks ago when all the plants directly in the middle of the room yellowed and showed mag def. Adjustments to lights, ph and some extra mag sulfate fixed the issue. I will be setting on first trellis today as I prepare to flip this room to flower. I am currently on a pheno hunt as well in this room with some seeds I have popped. White wedding from ethos genetics, Bahama Mamma from sol fire genetics and a few of my own. The next run of plants are also vegging nicely for a perpetual harvest. ( 60 cashmere living soil ). Unfortunately my veg room is now a dry room due to my outdoor harvest...Maybe I need to build another structure.

Thanks for that. I have never been part of a community like this before as I have always been extremely private and learned from the old timers here on the ridge. I look forward to updating my grow on here and continue to learn from the OG's here.

The commercial units of dehumidifiers do draw the power but they are so much more efficient in removing the moisture from the room the don't run 24/7 like my 70 pint from Home Depot. Definitely worth the purchase for a quest. Plus I figure I'm saving money by running LED so I can put power consumption in other places.

OK...day 43 veg update. Looking ok I think. Obviously had a major issue few weeks ago with the yellowing. (Learning how the coco and led effect the plants) I think I have resolved it for now by decreasing light to 50%, lowering ppm to 450 and rising, adding mag sulfate foliar spray and will add mag sulfate to fertigation soon. I have cal mag in my fertigation now but don't think it was helping enough. DIY drip rings got clogged ??? So I installed 360 sprayers and working great so far. Left for Montana for 4 days and the room was extremely stable. ( Though I did find myself on my phone every hour checking my pulse pro monitor ). Environment is on lock and vpd is rock solid. Ready to trellis today and get ready to flip this room. I think they are healthy to head into flower in a week or so. Just need somewhere to stash the smaller veg plants for next run.

I agree, that room deserves a quest. Looking good in there.
I know - that’s my only week spot. I was gonna order one then had some issues with greenhouse so funds went there . Hope I can limp through this run with the Home Depot special. A little pic of my late run greenhouse- hope the weather stays decent. That storm didn’t do too much damage.

Late update on the CoCo LED grow. Sorry- I'm so busy Its hard for me to update all the time but none the less here it is.

We are approaching end of week 4.
Room temps 80 Day 74 night
Humidity 62 Day 52 night
Co2 1600ppm
Feed Ppm 900
Ph 5.8
Light power 68% and rising 2% every couple days

Pheno hunt with the seeds are much taller than all the clones as expected, just hoping we get some decent keepers from this batch.
Everything has already been cloned and backed up.
This has been a challenge with CoCo and LED first time growing with both indoors, but its has taught me a lot and is very fun and so far results are extremely fast compared to soil and the ability to resolve an issue with a plant is fixable much faster also.

Hope ya like the pics, ill try my best to keep updating.

Thanks
